Sipping one now. Goes nicely with a Padron 2000 (but so does almost any beer, IMNSHO).

My son brought it to me from Albany to try. You don't find stronger beers like this one in NH all that often.

Wow. This one is very full. Roasty. Toasty. Hard to believe it's made by such a large brewery.

Well worth a try IMO, if you can find 'em.

Yup!! one of the few beers I *really* like, and only available during the summer.

I've been told the triple bock is also excellent but hard to come by. hell it's illegal to sell in 14 states (mine being one of them) so you know it's gotta be good

Into the dumper, yes, but in a very funny way....

Right about now, any beer with alcohol would taste like a stronger beer. :drinks:

I can't believe how fast this thread went ion the dumper...
No kidding, 0-60 in 4 posts, and not even a Busta in sight.

Umm This is one subject I take serious :) I won't trash beer... At least not good beer. ;)

I've asked this one to marry me...

Now some of the swill like PBR, Billy Beer, Harley Beer, etc? Well that stuff is fair game :p

:jester:

Without question the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you the wheel was also a fine invention, but a wheel does not go as well with pizza.

I recently picked up a 12 pack sample pack of 'Moons'

Blue Moon

Full Moon

(Which is actually a Winter brew. Don't know what that says that it was available in JUNE)

Pale Moon

I've had Blue Moon (draft) and it was decent, but all (3) beers were good for a mass brewed product.

Guinness is still a favorite, but I don't always want it...

Of course I also like Anchor Steam...

I would heartily recommend the Tall Timber Ale...that was being dispensed by the pint at CFR HQ at the bar.

Thanks to Dave/FastJoyRide for the recommendation...another reason to head back to BC. :yahoo:

This past weekend we rode down to New Glarus, WI and toured thier new facility. Then we went to the Minhas brewery in Monroe Wisconsin. What contrast. No wonder Minhas' best product (Huber Bock) can't hold a candle to any of the NG brews. If you've been there, you'd know what I'm talking about.

Then we went to the Glarner Stube and sampled additional NG brews. Bought a case of NG, hiked back to our hotel, sat on the pool that was filled in with gravel, and enjoyed it all. I gotta say, New Glarus makes some excellent stuff! Especially that Imperial Saison .... mmmm.. beer.....

Yesterday we rode to Potosi and enjoyed a minimal amount of their brews - enough to know it's good and that I gotta get the wife to drive us there some day. That is also a fantastic brewery, with a restaurant to match.

New Glarus does make some nice beers. I also like the Sprecher line-up when I am in the cheesy area (which is fairly often).

Some time in the not too distant future I would like to make a trip through Indianapolis to 3 Floyds. Supposed to be the best craft brewer on the planet these days. Can't get it back here in the northeast. I think their distribution is very small.

We will be swinging through Cooperstown on our vacation tour starting after the long weekend. Need to find a hotel within stumbling distance of the Ommegang brewery. ;)

'Round these parts, we try to avoid sucking on Sam Adams.

Nice....

But seriously, you haven't had a real imperial stout until you've had Deschutes' Abyss. A truly exceptional beer, albeit incredibly difficult to find when it's released (usually around January).
I hear ya. Now if they only exported to the civilized (eastern) world I'd be all over that.

Seriously, I'd love to figure a way to make a beer tour of the left coast on a murdercycle (without killing myself), although I am not really a huge fan of the left tendency to over-hop everything and use PNW hops in every style of beer.

Some of the stuff that people rave about out there is just downright nasty with citrusy cascade hop flavor.

Bustanut has it right can't mess with that :yahoo:
Sorta. Guinness draft is the stuff of legends. The crap in the bottle... meh.

Fred, any time you find yourself out in the these less-civilized PNW states I'll gladly rent the tour bus that'll take us brewery hopping. Not exactly sure how far we'll get (hell, we may never make it out of Rogue Brewery alive...), but it'd be worth trying nonetheless.

BTW: I type this as I'm drinking my 2nd (or it could be 3rd...) Dead Guy Ale. :drinks:
