Didn't take long to test out my new Piaa horns. Driver decided to change lanes and I let her have it. You could see the look of terror on her face. I think she thought it was a car there instead of my bike. I felt like I got a little respect. Anyway they were definitely worth the minor expense and time to switch them out for the stock tweeters.

Yeah I got these horns too. Awesome horns, easy to install - real easy. Just bolt on and use the existing wiring. Best $50 I spend on the Feejer yet.

Thankfully I have not had to use them yet. Now I have to re-train myself to use horns - there was no point with the stock horn - so I just moved out of the way. The stock horns sounded like the Road Runner with laryngitis.

Those things really are LOUD. One of the guys installed ONE, just replacing the stock Yama horn, and left the other one in place. His are much louder than my pair of Chief Auto "Freeway Blaster," aka regular car horns, and they're not bad. They may not SEE me, but I definitely want them to HEAR me if it comes to horn-blowing time.

By the way, I've got the very very bright Clearwater Krista aux lights--the big ones. They're wired to light at full brightness when I sound the horn. Now they see me AND hear me. :)

Here's a link to a vid I made to show some of the features of these lights that he uses on the Clearwater website. Click on the one titled "Clearwater lights in action." Make sure you have the sound on--but not too high.

Piaa Sports Horn 500-600hz. They were recommended by some for good sound and easy installation. Well worth it!
CaptainCautious,

Where did you mount the horn? Can you see it very easily? Would you mind posting some pictures? Thanks for sharing this. Looking for a horn to do just what you described.
This link shows pictures of the piaa sports horns installed in the lower position.

it also shows the position you could mount them at the higher position. That's where I mounted mine, and they are barely visible from the side. But be sure to use some rubber grommets if mounting in the higher position as that point doesn't have any originally.

I simply replaced stock units with new ones. A little tight in there but easy enough. I did have to extend my wiring to each horn by approximately 5 or 6 inches. Bought some wire from Radio Shack along with some male and female connectors. The wiring just made it easier to maneuver to plug the new ones in. As far as seeing the horns, no more than stock, since they compare in size so close to stock units.

Put a set of Highway blasters on my bike back last spring and it was'nt long before I had to wake a cage driver with a cell phone screwed in his ear.He was coming over on me and one good blast and he liked to have jumped out of his seat.Money well spent.
