Zip makes a great point. In 2006 New Zealand did a comprehensive study on why Motorcycles are in accidents , similar to our HURT in the USA. The goal of the study was to reduce accidents, not just survivability. The conclusions where similar to our studies, regarding survivability but they looked at one addition criteria, color of the bike and rider. What they determined was dark colored bikes and riders where the most often "not seen" and hit. Pretty obvious , but the number was significant, a bright colored bike and rider vs a dark bike and rider was 46% less likely to be in a collision in favor of the light colors. The best when tested were the colors similar to highway workers. The helmet color was very important also.
