I've just received a scam email purporting to come from Don Stanley. I can only assume my email address came from his email address book (that's not his address shown in the email), so others of you that have had personal email messages with him should be warned.

Wow.

The internet ... it brings so many good things along with so many bad things.

Thanks for the heads up.

Can anyone really envision that Don Stanley would have ever found himself in a position to say, "I have only very few people to run to now"? Besides the awful syntax of that phrase, Don would have had the locals lining up to help.

May the scammers rot in hell.

I got it too as well as a bevy of folks... his family has been notified to monitor the account so hopefully no more of this will go out... it did make me laugh a little though... all I could hear was Don saying, "Fecking *******!!"

I'm thinking that the guy running this scam may regret going through Don's acquaintances, he may find that he just hit a hornets nest with a stick... Maybe we should all reply to him?

That would serve him right...

Y'know, when I saw the email, for a brief moment, I had this crazy hope that Don had been pulling our legs all along and was a double super secret agent or something and had to go into hiding... yeah, I know... silly...

I think this is Don fecking with us....Perfect way for him to get back at folks. I have a solution... Everyone send me $100 and I will make sure that I get his passport back from the Philippines. Only and Irishman could concoct a scheme like this....

If Don was stranded without money or a cell phone and couldn't get ahold of us, Selma Hayek, Lucy Liu, or Angelina Jolie would have their wallet and could pick up the tab!!!

Well, it is clearly a scam since there was no "JSNS" sign-off. In cases like this, it is tempting to work a reverse scam on the scammer.

I gotta say I pretty much had the same reaction.

Yea, I had a very brief moment of thinking he was still with us.

I wish we could get ahold of this low life and use him for a piñata at Don's services.
