Hans - don't be foolish. For such an important diagnosis and repair, take it to a KNOWN good dealer. No excuses.
Spoke to Zach at Roseville Yamaha today. He is expecting me Saturday. :)

Hey Hans, I have a Garage queen you could use for the Wheaton touron Nor-Cal special.

It would be real easy to pick up on your way over to Roseville.

So, uh, Tom... How's this offer work again?

Heh! Well I'm not trailering the bike. You have to show up and ride it. Bring earplugs. You're welcome to stay over Thursday evening, but if you're here by 7:00, you also...

Get to dance and learn Argentine Tango.

Seriously, the C90 is a great ride, and I'll be glad to trade back and forth with you.

I can just feel the love on the forum. (And just three days before the end of the world.) All of youse who are building up the good karma here. :clapping: :clapping:

You did the right thing, Hans -- Zac and the Roseville Yamaha crew are the surgeons you want to diagnose and treat your baby. Here's hoping she's got many more miles left in her.

Tom, if I were to own a V-twin cruiser, it'd look like that -- looks like you can tour on that bad boy. Very nice!

Some of the people on this forum are amazing. :clapping:
Gunny that! My only concern is that the folks who have stepped up selfishly to help out a fellow rider, are going to be raptured on Saturday, and then I'll be left with no way to get my bike to Roseville. 'Cause I'm damn sure I'm not gonna be raptured. Any sinners out there with a trailer hitch who aren't busy Saturday, just as a fall back?

Man, I'm salivating here, but I just can't work out the logistics. Tonight I work till 10PM. Tomorrow I'm at work all day. Saturday we're heading up with the bike (if glas1/2ful and Tree Doc don't go an get all Raptured on me), and by then the Wheatie caravan will have passed through.... :(

Well if anything changes, the tanks are full and it's ready to ride.

FWIW I'm not planning on being raptured and will go out and get some Bushmills to inoculate against the possibility.

Did some deity schedule a Rapture for tomorrow? I didn't get the memo.

Never mind....Fox News has it. It must be real.

I hope it starts AFTER 10 because I REALLY don't want to be stuck draggin' JB's broken sled around for eternity.

I'm betting it's in the clutch. Don't let anybody pull the engine until the clutch is completely ruled out.
I was never happy with the clutch replacement I got a year ago. In fact, just before my problems started on the trip I was feeling like I wasn't getting good throttle-to-RPM correlation, so I experimented with rolling on the throttle aggressively in 4th and 5th and was not pleased with the response. To get really good acceleration, I had to always drop two gears.
Sounds more and more like the clutch to me. They would have to pull all the plates and inspect them to rule the clutch out. A shit load less work then getting to the transmission

How long would a fellah be allowed to keep that baby in his garage? Like maybe until he had to go pick up his bike in Roseville? Or to get to Bodega to make his obeisance to Wheatonius Maximonius and his train?

Oh Hans, please make the Bodega Wheatie Hommage dinner. We'd be honored (I think) with a reprise of your WFO speech (BEFORE you start drinking!)

Oh, fine... stick me with it :fool:

Bummer on yer ride, bro!. No shortage of volunteers, though. Let's hope the good Karma transfers over to yer bike's diagnosis.

I'll try to get in a word to Jesus on sending a Blessing yer way as soon as the Rapture delivers me to my destination. :hypocritesmiley:
