I'm getting ready to install a Scorpio alarm on my FJR and realized that there is no constant under the seats. Has anyone run leads from the battery yet? If so could you pass on a few tips? From the looks of things it seems that I will have to remove or at least lift the tank. I would rather not do that so please pass on any tips.

Thanks!

Lifting the tank is easy enough (make sure your nice and low on fuel). Remove the two screws at the front of the tank, the pinch bolt at the back of the tank and the silver tupperware and you will be able to prop the tank up to run the wires. The pinch bolt on mine was put on by Popeye himself at the factory so yours is probably going to be a little tight too. Once you have done it once it will be a piece of cake next time. Make sure you don't put too much strain on the harnesses under the tank when lifting it. Let us know how the install of the alarm works out.

Thanks,

I have a list of around the house projects I have to take care of before I can get back to it. I will more than likely get to it on Sunday. Thank you for your help I will post an update when I am done.

I plan on installing a Scorpio this weekend on my '06. ahamaY wisely increased the amount of underseat space so now there is plenty of room and installation should be a snap. The plug for the brake lights has even been moved to, oops....shouldn't say that, someone could be watching.. :assassin:

Seriously installation is easy, and the Scorpio is a nice unit. I won't be able to take pics though, digital camera is still in another zip code.

Thanks for the tip. I removed the tank with no problem. I ran a nice neat power lead from the battery back to under the seat area where the brain of the alarm is located. The Scorpio works great and is real easy to install.
