You would think that someone in marketing could have come up with a different name for this helmet..... . Must be a part of their new Doper series of gear.

Kinda makes you wonder about the marketing departments extracurricular activities.

Does it come with a free pipe, too?

I thought that "CrackHead" was truth in advertising with its 0 out of 5 stars safety rating.

Maybe, but dont' forget, their biggest market are the sportbike riders... and many of them are young....<G>

I have the Warhawk... pretty nice helmet...

Right up there in the marketing name hall of fame with the Nova auto brand when marketed in Spanish-speaking companies. "No va" in Spanish means "Does not go."

I own an EXO700 and an EXO400. They are great helmets. A little heavier than my Arai but a great helmet none the less.

I bought one at the Phoenix Motorcycle show, it's a great value lid, fits well, made well by the same people that made the HJC.

Can you share that source?
Yes, please. I'd like to know where you got that info because I've heard nothing but good things about the helmet.
Allow me to clarify:
 I thought that "CrackHead" was truth in advertising with its 0 out of 5 stars safety rating ;)  When your head slams the pavement without adequate protection what do you get? Why, CrackHead, of course. Fortunately I *do* have a day job.

Now I need to know if Scab found an answer to this:

Does it come with a free pipe, too?

I am not ionbeam, but allow me to elaborate. I don't know where he got the 0 of 5 stars rating but...

According to the official NHSTA testing report, the EXO-700 failed the LOW temperature impact and penetration tests. That would only preclude me from wearing it within those temperature parameters which they specify as (14F +8F, -0F). At those temps, I'd more than likely be home sipping a scotch in front of a fire. All that aside, I think it's a good helmet and would have bought one if it fit my head.

Here's the link to the report: https://199.79.180.163/prepos/files/Artemis...37878-21805.pdf

Scab make it the joke

Evidently I failed when I try to make it the joke

and seem to have failed in a second attempt to say it was just a joke.
DISCLAMER: I know nothing about CrackHead Helmets! The 'data' about 0-5 star ratings was intended as part of a joke that NOBODY seems to have understood. I've seen Scorpion helmets but do not know anything about them and did not intend my 'data' to be used as real facts.

CHIPS OFFERS REAL INFORMATION PLEASE READ POST #12

Thank you!

Two of my daughters have Scorpion EXO700 helmets and they both like them a lot. They are not likely to be riding in sub-freezing temperatures so I'm not concerned about that. I guess I'll have to warn them against using the Scorpion for snowmobiling, but since we have no snow this winter and we are expecting record high temperatures this weekend, I don't have any reason to hurry.

I agree that Crack Head is a very poor name for a helmet. I wonder if the marketing people even understand the culture.

I thought it was kind of a clever name. I kinda like it. The helmet, I mean... not the drugs.... :dribble:

Can you teach me how to fish? I mean, where did you get that report and how can we view similar test reports for competing products?
The list of all helmets tested for DOT FMVSS218 compliance is listed on the NHSTA site at this page: https://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/testing/comply/fmvss218/ . When you open each PDF, the far right column of each helmet summary contains a link to the actual testing data.

Edit to add: Apparently I have no sense of humor either because I failed to 'get it' :)

That STUPID name probably cost the company thousands of $$$ in marketing research but but given the target demografics(18-25yr sportbike riders) it will most likely return HUGE!!! Pretty stupid Huh!!
