I am looking for some Scotchlok type connectors, however, something that will work with stranded wire as well. Everything I have seen in these is that they are made for solid wire.

I have one solid 22 gauge wire and one stranded 18 gauge wire I need to quickly connect, and then do it again 61 more times throughout the house (alarm system reed switches to main wiring). Switches all came with stranded wire, main wiring has solid.

I would prefer a moisture type connector like the Scotchlok as these will be stuffed between the window and door frames and the house framing then covered with the non-pressure expanding GreatStuff sealant.

Any ideas? Or do you think twisting the contact switch wires would suffice?

A box of 3M- 72B wire connectors should do it. You can get them at Home Depot or Lowe's. A Platt electrical supply will also carry them.

Hey PF, before you do a local home alarm. Did you check with ADT or Brinks Home Security, "heard" they both offer heavy discounts to law enforcement. Might be worth a phone call.

Alarm components have already been purchased through insurance company. The money for the installation was used to assist with our kitchen appliance upgrades, thus I am doing the installation (which I enjoy anyway).

I ran all the wiring from every door and window with 6 conductor wire, even though most will only use 2 of them, but this allows for future upgrades when some new fancy shmancy laser guided smart bomb intruder destroyer comes out.

I don't have any issues with the motion sensors or keypads, because all of the wire I ran is 22 gauge single strand solid conductor, and those units have terminal screws to secure the wire. It's just that the reed switches I have (miniature stick on with screw holes for the windows and sliding door, and push in's for the hinged doors) all have stranded wire.

As for law enforcement discounts. Not in this part of the country! There are many places that give them, but if anyone takes them and the department finds out, you'll be in the unemployment line.
