The Seahawks are so worried they will lose on Sunday's they won't sell tickets for the game to anyone from California.

Heck I know at least twenty people up here that tried and couldn't get them. Waste of time anyhow, think I'll go south to Cal!

My 2cents... it's a weenie move... it's a sport and should be enjoyed by anyone who wants to attend no matter who they are rooting for. Way too much importance put on this sport when we have so many other issues going on in this world.

For the price of the tickets I rather buy stuff for my bike instead.

This, plus it alienates your fans who may live remotely and would come to town for the game.

+1, Gunny; it's a total weenie move, really "bush league" for the Sport of NFL Football! jes' sayin' and nuff said!

Seahawks announce limited tickets for NFC Title Game will only be available to fans with a billing address in WA, OR, MT, ID, AK, HI and the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta.

Above statement is for normal ticket sales but...

By NFL rules, SF has their allotment of tickets. Depending on venue size, this is usually around 200-500 tickets. "IF" SF doesn't want or use or sell off this allotment they can be returned to the home team for "their" disbursement.

It pays to have home field and earning it makes those regular season games that much more important.

'nuff said.

GO VIKINGS! (well, at least for a great draft pick!)

Shut off the telly and go for a ride!
I never stay home to watch a game. The DVR is set and I'll catch the game when I get home. With the fast forward through the commercials and the halftime I can watch the game in an hour and a half.

Just wanted to give the Hawk fans some pregame greif.

GO NINERS!!!!!

Yeah, home field advantage is a pretty big deal...

By the time you get to this point in the playoff season, the accuracy of home field advantage is pretty questionable. Since the two playoff teams probably haven't played all of the same teams over the season, the standings are heavily influenced by how soft their schedule was for the year.

Instead of using the entire season W-L record, why not use only the records of the teams they have played in common? Especially if they have played each other already.

As an example, the teams that the Broncos and Patriots have played in common are:

Texans (both won)

Ravens (both won)

Colts (Pats won in playoff, Broncos lost in regular season)

Each other (Pats won)

So who should get home field? Even if you didn't count the Colts playoff loss last week and only included the regular season, the heads up game should matter more than how many soft teams there are in their own divisions (that they get to beat up twice) or the arbitrarily assigned season schedules outside their own divisions.

But honestly, even if they were playing in Foxborough this weekend, I'd still have the same seat for the game. ;)

Fans? I hope but don't think the after the game behaviour will be pretty even if Seattle wins! I was born in Vancouver, 63 years ago and when I was 8 till about 12 my parents would drop me and a friend off at Empire stadium to watch our favourite team, the Lions and then pick us up after the game! The world is a changed place! I know the Canuck's didn't win the last game of the Stanley Cup but the world saw what happened afterwards! Add a little "match" to alcohol and see the fire ignite! I long for the way it was! I do hope the Hawks win and Seattle wins if the "fans" just relish the teams effort!

I used to enjoy football when it was a sport and not a mega million dollar enterprise.

But then again I am old and to be frank I am tired of seeing good things turn into crap.

Not sure when any professional sport wasn't totally about the making of money. It is merely a form of entertainment, and like all entertainment, it is provided only because there are people willing to pay the price to be entertained. If it doesn't entertain you, don't pay the price. Don't watch it. Simple as that.

But don't bemoan for "the good ole' days." They were never all that good, and just average players today are far more skilled and athletic than the "icons" of the past.

Yes a professional sport is about making money, however sportsmanship has been taken out of the game.

For the most part I do enjoy watching the game but not everything that goes with it.

I do not "bemoan" for the old days but I do not agree with your statement "they were never all that good."

As for the players being more skilled today all I can say is that the Model "T" has come a long way as well.

I am not trying to make a debate over this, we all have our opinions
