Seat Lock

Finally resolved. Had to really slam the knee into the passenger seat - click and the lock turned. The knee is the trick. If I had to do this routine on the road some time, a bystander may give me some weird looks!! Thank you all!
Do a 'karate' ki-yahhhh, should you find it necessary to do this if a bystander is nearby...

I would look at the seat carefully and make some permanent modification to allow it to unlock in a reasonable fashion. All that stress on the latch can't be good.

 
For my Honda NT I ordered a Corbin. When I went to install it I could not get it to latch. I removed the portion of the latch from the seat and added two washers under it. No problems after that.
The washer thing does work...did the same to a Corbin that I owned for a short time.

The best part of this solution is if over time the seat loosens up you pull the washers and your back to a good fit.
