Another happy Bill Mayer customer here. It took a couple thousand miles for the seat to become a "custom fit", but now it is a perfect fit. Any custom seat will seem a bit hard at first, but once it gets broken in it is very very nice.

The stock seat on the ST1300 was the worst OEM seat I ever had. One hour on that thing and I was squirming, standing, moving around trying to get comfortable. A Sargent seat solved the problem for me. The factory FJR seat was quite a bit better (for me) and I could ride for about two hours before feeling discomfort. I bought another Sargent and I couldn't be happier. I will admit that I bought the Sargent largely because I like the way it looks on the bike. I suspect that a Russell or Mayer will provide better all day comfort but aesthetics are important to me. The Sargent in my mind is the perfect compromise.
