So I just completed a 700 mile trip across my great state of Nebraska, all happy no problem miles thankfully! But definitely determined I need something better under my butt. Still sporting the stock seat, which does ok but can for sure be improved upon. I want to know what you guys use and found has worked for those 300+mile a day trips for you. I'm thinking a cover/pad at this point because of cost, such as the beads or Airhawk. But if you swear by some awesome aftermarket seat that might be the way to go. Let me know what ya got! And if you do suggest airhawk, which one and what style/size? Thanks guys!! ride on!

Just skip to the end of a never-ending recurring subject, skip the mistakes, and save the angst....because just about everything else is a weak 2nd or lower. Search on Russell and/or click on the link in my signature.

Iggy speaks the truth. 100k on my Russell and no butt disease. I wish I had one for the Wing.

Lots of options out there of which Russell is one. Depends on your intended use and if you plan on being in the saddle for days on end...

Good luck with the search!

Yes, there are lots of options. No, not all of them work. Yes, you really do get what you pay for. Fortunately, there is a clear "Best Option", and as Ignacio says, the rest are in 2nd place.

If money is an issue and you don't plan on consistently riding 1000 mile days I will recommend the Laam Custom. A fantastic seat for the money.

If you only want to do this once and want the very best, order the Russell Day Long.

I will warn you that a better seat means more time on the bike and you might find your riding preferences changing accordingly.

You don't have to send in your stock seat with the russell do you?
Not if you do a ride-in for this truly custom seat. It's cheaper if you send in your existing seat. Those interested in Russell really do have to read their website.

I put a Laam seat on my 2011 Speed Triple and it works great, no Russell Daylong but the Laam looks better on my S3 and I know my butt doesn't have eyes LOL

On the 2005 I just bought it came with a Corbin. I went on a 385 mile ride to lunch Sunday and the Corbin was ok, but again, no Russell Daylong.

I had a Russell on both my C10 Connies and my C14, to me, they are the best long distance seat made.

I am trying to sell my Corbin btw

Thanks for the clarification as I have read only positive reviews of Seth Laam's seats.

If money is an issue right now, look at the gel seats at Royleriding.com. The one for our seat is the triangular one in medium. I have one and on cross country trips with my butt on fire, it's like heaven dipped in chocolate wrapped in bacon. :)

The stock seat has a crown in the middle, and needs to be flatter/wider. Nothing you put on it (beads or pads) is going to change the basic flawed shape, just put more mush under your butt........ you need an aftermarket seat.
