Leaving TX is good! You should be stoked!!!!

Sell it back to Mexico I say......

:)

Seriously, congrats. My oldest is leaving Laredo the end of the year, going to Billings, MT.... Flip flop!!!

BobbyBlue, did you ever give TWTex a gander? It's a fantastic group of folks who are not brand centric (though there's a lot of guys with KLR's and Bandits!). If not, then you've been missing out on the monthly pie runs for certain. You also missed out on three years of BBQ4U, where one guy opens his house to all comers and two other guys show up with smokers and feed the guests. I'm sad that one ended.

Thanks Jasen, they dont do alot right here but they do ride the hill-country sometimes....i've only ridden a couple times in groups..not a big fan either...i have to stop more than most these days and as a 40+ yr rider newbs and returning ego's dont thrill me too much...and i'm the only fjr usually...i'm hoping i can stay up with these PNW guys !!....i havent broken this to my family yet either...and wont until about 2 months out...i've crossed oceans for them but they cant cross a puddle for me....such is life and i really would like to breathe clean air again !!

Sorry 'bout the Q leaving...i'll meet ya in Llano when it cools down though...great BBQ !!!

Ha! If you showed up to a pie run, you'd not be the only FJR. I think the FJR is the official motorcycle of the pie run. Back in February I was planning to go and my battery was dead. They announced that it was the first pie run without an FJR present.

It's usually not big groups though, lots of little groups of very seasoned riders converging on a point in the state for lunch and pie. Good stuff. You should hit one up before you head out.

I have a question for the washington state folks....i closely perused the Dept. of Motor Vehicles and how to change titles and register the vehicles, but the inspection part was mondo confusing....so does the bike have to be smogged ? texas doesnt give a **** and for $50 , i can get you any color stickers jew need ok ? i'm guessing the local native population doesnt run things like they do here....the cuzzin network as it were, so are inspections every year and do y'all have a motorcycle handicapped plate....yes my fjr does and he likes it too ! sorry, thats 2 questions....and man, they nail ya for motorcycle endorsement...but i really like the expanded drivers license which i guess will be helpful to ride in canada ! wow...to cross a border without risk of kidnap or death will be nice...i'm so ready to move !!!

Bless you Ahchiu...thats tough on a dyslexic man...good to know and i got hold of someone from the state about the handi-cap plate but there was something wrong with the connection...i heard bubbling through a straw followed by copious coughing and strange laughter...same response twice too...must be cell tower trouble...i'll try again tomorrow...thanks again !

+1 on TWTex. Great group of folks.

Bobby, If I can get the time off from work next month I'll take you to the pie run. That way there will be at least 2 FJRs.

I made all three BBQ4U. Sad it ended so quick. But it was a lot of work for them.

Actually, it only ended because of a loss of venue. The two cooks were/are willing to do it if we could find a suitable location.

Lots of FJRs in the metro area Bobby. We've also got the best darn Tech Day in the country...you'll see when you get out here. Beautiful scenery, year around riding (if you don't mind a little wet) and some very nice roads.
I live in the NE foothills, most excellent roads right out my front door but definitely on the wet side.
