Hopefully I'm on the tail end of a nasty cold that's had me down for the last week. Both the cafe in Plymouth and Mel's will be open on New Years day so we are good in the eats department. The snow we had has been melted by the rain with snow levels projected to stay around 4000 ft so the roads should be good as well.

For those coming down Latrobe take care at my personal boogyman of a turn. It's the left hander after the bridge over the Consumnes River with the big rock wall to catch you should you go wide. It almost ate my lunch one day and one of the few turns that actually makes me take pause.

See everyone next Tuesday. :yahoo:

Took a little ride in the cage yesterday with Terri. Just so happens I had a gift card for Black Angus, two movie tickets for Regal Cinemas, and there was a sale at Motos Plus near Sunrise Blvd and Hwy 50. So I checked Google and planned my trip. First I checked out the 30% off sale Hwy 50 at Sunrise, then found the movie theater right near the Starbucks at Latrobe rd. This is the first time on Latrobe road and did not want to look for Starbucks Tuesday morning is why I picked this location to see a movie. I was happy to find the Starbucks shared the parking lot with a Valero gas station, great location to start a ride with a full tank. It was a little hard to find at first since there are so many shops at Town Center and I drove around the whole place looking for it. Gee, it was tucked in the left corner as you entered Town Center. So now come Tuesday morining I know to head south on Latrobe from Hwy 50 then Left on Town Center and another left at the first stop sign in Town Center.

See you all on Tuesday.

Mike

AND -- it could quite well be slippery on the morning of the ride.

I will have to make it another time have pelled the hamstring in left leg. As of now hurts to much. I will catch the ride as they happen later.

Weekend rider not this for tomorrow :) but feeling and looking like this :(

Sorry about your hamster, Wknd. Next year time....

For the list, I will be with a buddy. Call him James II. Along with James II, it looks like Silent may be tagging along with us as well, threading up the back way through Rio Vista and up 88.

Not sure we will make the rendezvous by 0900 on the dot. Planning to leave Concord about 0700.

Jb

I've been following this thread, wishing I could join you all. However my FJR is recovering from moderate road rash and I from moderate broken ribs. I am one of the newer crash club members. I anticipate it will take 1-2 months to get the bike (and the ribs) back in tip top shape. I'll join you all for the spring rides.

Have fun and dress in layers.

Sorry about your mishap, L.C. Hope you get better quick. See you in the spring if not sooner. Jb

For those that may have missed it here is a link to the ride.

Ride link

It seems kind of short before the next lunch stop so when we get out to Hwy 88 we can see if we wish to go Hwy 26 or stay on the original route and bounce around east of Jackson for a while before heading to lunch and breaking up.

I thought thet Hwy 26 route was on the ride plan!?!? I'd hate to be there and NOT ride it.....and you can wave at your homestead as you ride past!

Rider/participants...do yourselves a huge favor. Take a short break in Volcano and LOBBY HARD for riding hte Hwy 26 loop from Pioneer to Mokulmne Hill. It is a definite MUST ride! :yahoo:

Cross me off - again. I suck.

Have a great time.

I beefed up the ride a little so we can work up an appetite for lunch.

Link to updated route.

Not a long ride but almost non stop twisties! :yahoo:

Looks like about 13 bikes so we will be pretty stretched out. Other than waiting for the guy behind at the turns we will make stops in Volcano and the Pardee Lake overlook (location P on the Google map).

Do you guys have room for another rider? I haven't had the opportunity to ride with any of you before but I have been lurking around on this forum for some time now. I would like to join you guys if you don't mind another FJR tagging along. :D I'm in Elk Grove, so I would ride up to Plymouth and meet you guys for breakfast at 0900. That's still the plan right?

You are welcome of course. Look forward to meeting you.

I am afraid I am going to have to bail!

I will miss visiting with all of you. I flew this weekend to my daughter's wedding in Arlinton, VA. My flights got screwed up due to late flights and missed connections (US Airways) and I arrived home a day late. I have to start the New Year working to make up for lost time. Grrrrr.

On a more positive note, I have French in-laws now.

That's okay. It's Karen we really want to see. So just send her along.... :D

JB - I understand completely -- every time I look in the mirror. Besides, I can't bake like she does.

She did sit on a Ducati Monster 695 last week and fell in love with it. It is very light, it fits her well, and she can flatfoot while on it. Hmmm . . .

Congrats you guys on the new family member. I will be taking my daughter down the isle in March. Oh me!. Well, we'll be thinking of you as we are making it through the awesome twisty countryside of the great Sierra Nevada foothills on the beautiful new years day. Blessings, PM. <>< :D
