One of my oldest friends has had some problems lately, so he went in to see a doctor for the first time in 35 years. He will find out the results of the prostate biopsy friday and they just attempted a colonoscopy and could only make it 8 cm before finding and obstruction. The Dr. said they would have to do surgery soon and would be really suprised if there wasn't any sign of cancer. He's just retired from the county road dept and started a very sucessful trucking and excavating business. Hopefully all will work out.

Here's the kicker, I just had a colonoscopy done and the Dr. said with prior screening, they can reduce the risk of colon cancer by 97%. So, if you are over 50 and have not had it done, do it now. It's no big thing. And if there is a familhy history of colon cancer, do it sooner. Not doing it is like playing with dynamite. fred jr

Just had my first one last week. Not fun, but not too bad either. Guess I'm good for another five or ten years.

I've been having them done every 3 years for the last ten (family history). The only thing unpleasant about it is the prep the day before. A small price to pay for piece of mind.

+ 1 Gunny Ball or whatever...I have very little family history but am 53 and finaly decided a colonoscopy couldn't be worse then listening to my wife go on and on about it. It was no big deal except drinking that gallon of totally awful stuff and hanging out in the can for about 3 hours. I hope your friend is OK Junior.

Docs been hasslin me so much about it I have questions as to his motives :man_in_love: Guess maybe I'd better, ummm, assume the position.

I recently turned 35. Does this mean I should sell the FJR and get an R1?

The sad thing is, I know I couldn't keep up with any of you! (excpet on-foot maybe)

As a wise man named Krusty once said "I kid because I love."

Here's something that just occurred to me:

I wonder how many "iron butt" searches you guys just tainted for some poor slobs in the future trying to get some rally info!

Recall hearing something recently about the pill method of flushing. Wasn't good either.

Didnt we used to have a member named Black Mamba...what he do? Seriously though, the "go see a doc" is some great advice..all kinds of funkiness can lurk beneath a beautiful, tanned, seriously scarred body !

Anybody seen the Family Guy episode where Peter gets a prostate exam and then sues the doctor for molesting him?

Man, that show is funny!

Yes there are two ways to clean out the ole poop shoot that gallon od terrible liquid stuff and than here in Woodland Ca. they use three pills that you buy over the counter and that is it. It still takes several hours to evacuate the colon .

It is the Sigmoidoskipy that is the one that is bothersome, But if you like beong filled up with air and fart for the next 4-6 hours who cares.. I was able to ass crystal light to my gallon and help take some of that nasty taste away. :dribble:
