One of my oldest friends has had some problems lately, so he went in to see a doctor for the first time in 35 years. He will find out the results of the prostate biopsy friday and they just attempted a colonoscopy and could only make it 8 cm before finding and obstruction. The Dr. said they would have to do surgery soon and would be really suprised if there wasn't any sign of cancer. He's just retired from the county road dept and started a very sucessful trucking and excavating business. Hopefully all will work out.
Here's the kicker, I just had a colonoscopy done and the Dr. said with prior screening, they can reduce the risk of colon cancer by 97%. So, if you are over 50 and have not had it done, do it now. It's no big thing. And if there is a familhy history of colon cancer, do it sooner. Not doing it is like playing with dynamite. fred jr
