I would like to get a Gen2, but looks like to get a Gen2 in my price range it'll likely be an AE model and with 30K miles or more. Im finding 10-15K mile Gen1's A models in the mid 6K price range within driving distance. I'm not opposed to an auto clutch model, but prefer a clutch I think. I have never ridden an AE model and perhaps I'm judging it unfairly.
I've got a buddy in Idaho thinking about selling his 2006 Gen II. It's pretty much showroom condition, about 20k miles, Corbin seat, almost new tires, I think he wanted about $6500. Fly and ride would a great way to get to know your bike.

Just got back from a half hour ride..... Observations

She's a big girl, but carries her weight well. On the Futura you didn't need to look at the speedo to know you were accelerating. The front tire in the air was a pretty good indicator...LOL. The FJR is FAST but its like you don't know you just got up tp 110MPH after leaving the traffic light till you glance at the guages. Wind management......... in the down position lots of nice air but a little noisy, but OK. windsheild in tour mode.... NOISEY but not turbulent, if I open my visor its totally quiet? Weird huh? If I close visor and tuck a bit its very nice so I guess a taller sheild is next on the list. The clutch releases as soon as you start to release the lever. Great gear box and neutral is super easy to find. So far I think she is gonna work.
