Looking forward to next year, I'm trying to figure out which weekend to book us in for. Obviously I'm looking at May now and we have the choice of the 2 weekends between Mother's Day and Memorial Day, May 13-16 or May 20-23, 2010. I'm all for pushing it as close to summer as I can but I worry that doing it the weekend before Memorial Day weekend might not be desirable by a significant number of folks. So please let me know if this is an issue or not by casting your vote and relaying some feedback.

I did talk about early June with quite a few folks at the rally, but unfortunately that's not an option for the hotel. There's a big festival in Eureka the first weekend, then it's Father's Day and then they have another group booked the following weekend. So May it is.

I voted for April. Not because I like rain and not because I am an ass...OK I am an ass, but I voted for April because I like having rides planned early in the riding season. The chances for rain are just as likely for May as they are in April. Besides, should precip happen, camping in the rain just adds to the experience.

I voted for 23re &24th but I will be there no matter when it is if I am able. Graduations might be a consideration as there are many during May. I just did my last one for a while so they will not be a problem for me.

Also, on Saturday 5/2, there was about 3" of hail in certain parts of Arkansas. That sucked too!

FYI...I will be sneaking off to ride in AR this Thursday. Wanna come out and play? Then we could both suck! (and children, get your mind out of the gutter)

The potential for rain is as likely in June as it is in April. You cant win that fight. Just pick a date, it'll work out!

EDIT: I will say this...even if its the first weekend in June (or whenever) it should still be cooler to ride around AR than in TX, FL, LA, MS, AL I seem to remember lots of shady spots. I'd rather ride in a little heat than in rain any day. I bet FJRchik would prefer that we pick a specific date for this and both May weekends should work for me. I know there is a high school graduation in my extended family next year, but I think it'll be Memorial weekend.

Yeah, I guess I really would like to hear which one works better between the two May dates. It's pretty much a done deal that we're going to try May next year.

I voted for "I Don't Care" and I really don't. If push comes to shove, I'd prefer a weekend between SFO and Memorial weekend.

I voted for May 13, but I agree that you can't predict the weather. I do have an annual golf trip in April, so I must admit that May avoids any potential conflict. Rain or shine, I'll be there next year.
