Just make it a 9 day event, it cant rain for 9 days in a row....can it?Here's an idea. Let's do back to back weekends! Surely we would get one sunny weekend that way.
It can and probably would rain 9 days straight, but I digress. Other than that 9 days sounds great.Just make it a 9 day event, it cant rain for 9 days in a row....can it?Here's an idea. Let's do back to back weekends! Surely we would get one sunny weekend that way.
It rained last year too, more often than not, so it does seem to be a pattern and I'm trying to lessen the chances. We never had rain in Russellville so I think ES's location has something to do with it too. With next year being a special event, I'm gonna do what it takes to give us the best odds of a nice weekend and April and early May just don't seem to be it up there.I vote for sometime in early May, maybe even the same 1st wknd. It can't rain twice in a row on the same wknd, can it?
If you do it before the April-May window it will be pretty cool. If you wait till after, it will be pretty warm. Might not be as quite as rainy in the fall, but you'll have more people on the road looking at the fall colors. We did have a lot of rain this year, but the temps were nice. Don't know if it's possible to shedule it when the weather is ideal. Rain happens. Especially in the spring. I'm probably good with any time as long as it's not in the warmest time of the year.It rained last year too, more often than not, so it does seem to be a pattern and I'm trying to lessen the chances. I dunno...I like drinking when I get to ES. Rain or shine. Hell, just getting to ES is enough for me. Getting out of there is just as much fun. Next time I might bring my girlfriend.....you pups might be in for a hoot.
That's what the hotel staff told us too, there's just no way to know. This year has been pretty crappy weather down here so maybe things will be better next year. But it's also about our Canadians friends who may have to ride through snow and ice to get down here. I keep pushing it further towards summer for them too.I've been following this thread because CFO is thinking of moving it's date, again, and I just might make a dash to Eureka Springs myself. Rain has been your big concern so I looked up so of the historical averages for Eureka Springs HERE According to that on average April is the driest of the three months April, May and June and May the wettest.
What does this all mean?? I dunno <shrug> rain is a crap shoot. Maybe this info will help a bit.
