my plans are undecided at this point. I have a Nephew close to huntsville I will need to visit at some point on this trip for sure. (need to check his schedual) I could be persuaded to some riding after sfo. (Could add S.carolina to the states map) wouldn't mind having to ride home thru Arkansas will post plans when I know for sure.

And now for a programming note!

We are T-minus 5 weeks and counting!!!!

Alright!!! EOM is done and over. And what an amazing weekend!!!

I can now start looking forward and planning for SFO. Let's hope the same fun can be had.... but without all the bad incidents.

I can't make this one... I took a new job at work and I doubt the boss would be too happy if I called out sick.

Well LCB - that's too bad. Maybe next year. Good luck with your new job!!

OK gang, I just returned from four days in the Ozarks. Let's all just be thankful we didn't choose to have our event there this past weekend. Not that it wasn't AWESOME and our group of five had a fantastic time, at least I know I did. But the Blues, Bikes and BBQ was going on in Fayetteville. With over 400,000 in attendance we were getting "hog" blocked at every corner.

On Friday we even had a 45 minute wait at the Oark General Store and almost no parking to be had. But we didn't let any of that spoil our fun! The Oark was fantastic, as usual. The blueberry pie a la mode was probably the best desert I have ever eaten. Then, leaving the Oark running down 215 with the Mulberry River on our left (as a blur), we came upon several hordes of "bikers" that had gotten their bellies full at the Oark as well. In one of the long straights I had a full head of steam and led our bandito group past a couple of loud noise makers at triple digit speeds. We then hung a left on 23 and headed down to Turner Bend Store (which was also covered up!) to get some fuel and a cold beverage. Well, about 10 minutes later two of the bikes we had passed back on 215 and probably blew off the road with our wake turbulence, pulled in. When they got off their bikes we overheard one of the ladies say to the other, "Did you see those sport bikes that blew past up at 100 mph??". We just all smiled at each other.

It wasn't the last time we roasted pig that weekend, I assure you.

We hit as many of the great roads as we could in our 3 full days in the Ozarks, almost all of 14, most of 123, a good portion of 16 and 23, 125 in Missouri and of course had pie at Cookies in Theodosia. Then back on roller coaster US 160 to Hollister and caught some football Saturday afternoon at Ye Olde English Inn. Headed out from The Hub on 7 to Russellville yesterday and was running a little late. So we didn't get to continue on 7 to Hot Springs and had to slab it on I-40 from there. It truly was a fabulous weekend, even if it was 98 degrees on the way home yesterday.

I understand that a few of you had a great time at EOM this past weekend as well. With those great rides behind us it's time to turn our full attention to SFO. Everything is still on go with our entertainment on Friday night. I'm trying to talk a friend into doing an amateur comedy gig for us Saturday night. If he can make it I expect he'll have all of us in stitches!

Anyway, looking forward to seeing everyone in just a few weeks. If anybody has any particular interest or questions just shoot me a PM or post up here. I'll do my best to answer or assist.

Sorry to read your regrets, Lisa. We will find a way to carry on.

Julie - from what I've read, the bar has been set fairly high at EOM. None the less, I'm up for the challenge. Let's do SFO proper!!!!

FJRBandit - where's the good pie in Northeast Alabama?

You know, in a way that is really a fairly simple question to answer. Almost any BBQ joint in Alabama is going to have good pie.

But here are just a few places that will be in the general vicinity of where we'll be riding.

Full Moon BBQ, which has a location in Alabaster about 15 minutes north of Jemison right off of I-65 has excellent BBQ and great pies. This is just one of the many BBQ joints I could name that have good BBQ and pies.

Lloyd's Restaurant is a place that I highly recommend for those that are going to visit Barber Museum. It's about 15 minutes south of Barber on U.S. 280 just outside of Birmingham. They have a fantastic full menu of all the favorites, great vegetables and excellent pies! The only drawback here is the traffic in that area is very congested at most all hours of the day.

Of course Peach Park, just south of Jemison in Clanton, has excellent fried peach pie and homemade peach ice cream.

Coming in from the west, I understand that the place to stop for pie is at the Pie Lab in Greensboro. I haven't been myself. But from what I hear, I'm missing out. May be a place we can meet on Thursday if I am able to break away...

and of course... pie will be on the menu at our evening events as well. ;)

Hey Turk,

I just made my reservations at the Inn of Clanton. I will arrive on late Thursday afternoon and leave on Sunday. I can not wait for good riding, good friends, good food and good times.

Everybody ride safe and I'll see y'all soon!

Excellent!!!!!

Now - I'm bringing the tequila and the rye, but I could be talked into a glass of fine wine. Especially if you whisper it to me!!!!!!

Any news on if RFH is able to make this shindig?

Paging Fish, paging Fish......

Oh, and I thought SFO would be the next time I would have to opportunity to add some more states to my ride map- but it looks like I have been persuaded into riding down to Arkansas for the Hooterville shindig. So I'll make sure to snag Oklahoma while I'm there. (+2!)

Then 3 weeks later, I'll be down for SFO. Not sure any of the surrounding states will get grabbed that weekend. As it looks like the LZ is pretty well centered in the great state of Alabama....
