There wouldn't be such a problem but those IBA guys keep topping off their 11 Gallon tanks.
Notwithstanding the larger issue of the herds of SilveraydoMomVanExpeditionators flirting with credit card limits in their 30+ gallon tanks at a more frequent rate....IBA guys tend to not "top off" their 11.5 gallon setups. They usually fill them fully with 10+ gallons, wipe down their face shields, and off for another 400+ miles at 40+mpg. 5 gallon fuel cells ain't the problem.

But, more importantly with those large setups....they probably would avoid filling in a sketchy fuel region altogether and/or time a fuel stop to be before or after it....especially if rally points are involved.

I filled up in Tellico Plains this morning and was able to top off with high test in Tennessee just before crossing into Georgia. Lots of closed pumps in Georgia, including the one near Two Wheels Only. Only 87 octane at the places that still have any. I'm heading back towards Tellico soon so I'll see if things are any better in Tennessee. I'm riding the FZ09 today which has lousy range. If gas is scarce tomorrow I'll ride the FJR and if I carry a spare gallon in the tailbag I'll be able to ride most of the day without a fillup.

Yeah they have lost their mind down here about the gas. People here a mention of a possible, maybe, possible, sort of problem with gas and they go a Panic buying spree. A couple of gas stations down the road from me went up almost 50 cents a gallon overnight so they are taking the opportunity to gouge people also.

Report them to the state attorney general for price gouging.

Well, if there is actually a fuel shortage at EOM, which I doubt, I hope the local stores are well stocked with beer.

I didn't know I could run beer in my bike. Will the low octane stuff be ok or do I need to buy the "good" stuff?
In the tank, the cheap stuff is fine. For getting tanked you should always use the best you can afford.
