I found an awesome deal on a 47 inch 1080p TV (760 bucks). I'm thinking about buying it and replacing my 37 inch. Don't have ANY idea what I'd do with my 37 inch. Maybe make it a bedroom tv, or maybe just sell it used for like 2 hundred bucks and make some money back. It has a few more features than the 37 inch I have, and got good reviews. It's just on clearance from a store (big name store national chain, not some 'local' shop).

Worth doing? Our living room expanded with the purchase of the house so we can sit back a little further. Whatdya think? I'm actually contemplating buying two and trying to sell one on Ebay for a profit, and if it doesn't sell for what I want, return it to the store for a refund.

It's regular LCD, NOT plasma. The TV will be hooked up to HD DVR receiver, a blu-ray player, and my xbox 360 (capable of 1080p). It's DISH network, but I want it mostly for xbox and blu-ray movies.

Not sure why this chain is getting rid of the TV, but it's going for 1000 bucks on amazon, and more other places.

Is this a brand new TV. Add in local tax.

All my equipment were purchased as open box or refurbs saving 33%. Amazon Warehouse has been my fav, but I also look at Vanns, Tigerdirect, and Newegg.

if you can find it on Amazon, TigerDirect, NewEgg, Vanns and the owner reviews seem satisfactory to you

AND the room you are going to put it in is big enough for it to be the "proper" distance from the viewer (google those specs)

then go for it. However, I also am a fan of Consumer Reports evals if available.

Consider sound which is much better on some TV's than others unless you already have a surround sound system to take care of that like I do.

I have a 46" in my den which is 20x15 and the TV is 15' away from the sofa which works great.

I have a 32" in my bedroom with the TV up on a chest of drawers. Also works great.

Best of luck with it. Lets us know how it works out for you.

It's all personal choice. I don't know that I could live with ONLY a 47" TV after years with a 53" rear projection HDTv (1080i) and then upgrading to a 6x" 1080p. ;)

Sounds like a good deal I guess, if you need another TV. I saw some good deals on TV's at Costco lately. Prices are dropping really fast now, especially with LED LCD running a 240 hz speed picture, although unless you play a lot of the new high tech games, you probably cannot notice the difference between 120 hz and 240 hz.

You could keep your current TV and put that $720 into a new Russell seat and a Rifle windshield!!

Just Saying!!

Bought it. Signed up for a target card and got an additional %10 off. Paying the card off tomorrow and canceling it the next day.

Turns out that if I can catch them when only the display model is left, i can grab the display for $530 with full warranty. So I'll keep checking back. Then sell the new one on ebay or return it. So far so good.
