I like the fancy time stamp on the photos...makes it easier to know when I was in the area.

Yeah, I've noticed.

easier isn't always better

Hey There:

I was in that same area Sat/Sun last weekend doing our annual 5-Passes Ride (Tioga/Sonora/Monitor/Ebbets/Carson) and saw a few feejers on the road. Had a nice visit with a guy from San Jose in Markleeville at the sandwich shop Sat afternoon looking over his 2013.

Fall colors were indeed nice, and there was a bite in the air in the morning. Fall is a great time to ride the Sierra's.

What a sad view of the burned area - a crummy shame that so many people can't seem to manage a campfire. I can't tell you how many times camping we have watched people packup a leave with a flaming campfire, and had to go extinguish it ourselves.

That area will probably never recover given the change in climate and the total roasting the ground took.

Enjoyed the look John!

PS - we rode the Little Dragon home Sunday afternoon heading south and with the roadwork they have done you can REALLY lean that baby over!!

great RR! Was that June Lake?

Was planning on a trip to the area to fly fish this weekend, but not with these Santa Anna winds kicking up. Guess I'll take the bike out after all!

SPOT link fixed. (Upgrades they did to the site suck! Used to be able to add multiple pics at reporting points, now it's one at a time, lame!)

Yes, the LIttle Dragon is even better now, (if that's possible) and it's only 30 minutes away.

Yep, June Lake it was. Not the peak of color by any means, but still picturesque.

Great pix. We planned to see Yosemite for the first time, earlier this year but our long awaited visit coincided with the fire that closed Tioga Pass.
Don't let the fire damage scare you away. The Valley is still awesome and Olmstead Point has a view that was made for postcard companies. Don't forget Glacier Pt., it's my favorite!
