I'm leaving for a 5 day trip this weekend, and I'm using an idea from one of Peter Egan's (Cycle World writer) friends. I saved the ratty, just-about-done socks and undies from the back of the dresser drawer. You know, the ones that are going to be thrown out or become rags. Wear them one day, toss them in the garbage/camp fire.

On a side note, if you toss them in the campfire, best not to cook weenies or roast marshmallows that night.......

Have fun.

my trailer has been picked up and is being shipped so next steep will be getting it to look like a new black cherry to match the bike and then some photos . need to look in to posting photos :p

I have read through this post and see that this is just another one of those issues that is more opinion and choice/riding style than anything else. I am all for minimizing what I carry when I ride 2-up. Fortunately for me my SO enjoys camping. The first camping trip proved to me that you just can't carry sufficient gear for two. One of the things that no one mentioned was eating. If you can't carry food and cooking equipment you are limited as to where you can camp, because you will always have to go out to eat. I am with Robert(SLK50). The added space not only affords tha ability to carry food and cooking gear, but also some creature comforts too. As to the safety of towing a trailer with a motorcycle, there are things to consider. Make sure that all aspects of the setup are installed and operating correctly. Don't overload. Adjust your driving appropriately for the trailer. My setup rides so nice behind the bike I can hardly tell it's there.

I'll be taking it on a little run down to the Columbia River next weekend to get the feel of what to take for the big trip in September. That has been on my list, tire, bearings and spoons!
