Jill... Great ride report Thanks... Looks like you folks like to ride and had a great time. You really feel old when you go to the museum and see bikes you used to ride many years ago.
Richard... You're going to love your new saddle. When Rocky made mine he told me that it would take 1000-1500 miles for it to really break in well. That was over 40k miles ago and I love it. Long 700-1000 mile days are NO problem in the 'butt' department. Add a pair of LD Comfort shorts and you're good to go for as long as you can stay awake.

I also added a sheep skin pad from Alaska Leathers. 2 things... I wear a Aerostich and this stops the sliding. It also is cooler in summer. It's the 'icing' on the cake.

I'm thinking it's about time for some apple pie... down in Julian.. Y'all would be more than welcome on that ride...

obtw... I always stop at the Chevron on Seaward Ave for gas out that way... easy in & out, no prob w/cards and a good mini store.. just for future ref...
Yes she does the best ride reports thats why i take along. ;)

And Julian is good, we need to Palomar mountain road again.

You will be amazed one day when you arrive home after a very long day and realize you didn't even notice the seat. That's what it's about.
KD
That's EXACTLY my feeling. On the ride home, I felt as though I'd wasted a ton of $$ because my butt still hurt. There wasn't a precise time when the seat got broken in, but when we did a 1000 mile weekend, it occurred to me that I hadn't even noticed the seat. My knees did reminde me that we'd done a long ride!

Jill

That's what it's about, Jill. I can remember arriving home after running the LA1K, and noticing that I had NOT noticed my butt.

The knees, however, are another thing entirely !!

"The mountain over Fraizer Park was hairy- ice and big vertical exposure. Roger almost left the bike and rented a car".

What time was it when you were going through Frazier Park? I was coming home from work around 3pm, and passed an FJR with its rider wearing a day-glo yellow suit. Was that you? I ride those hairy, ice covered, sand covered, wet nasty roads every day (real slow though). At the end of the week, my bike looks more like I had been riding a mud track.
