Skyway Slider

Gang,

I have a set of sliders but no instructions on how to install. From what I can tell, I just need to put the bike on its center stand and remove the allen head bolts and put the sliders on and tighten the bolt. Do I need to do anything else and can someone let me know what the torque is for the bolts please. I did try a search but didn't find anything on installation of sliders.

Skyway sent me very limited instructions and said to torque 29 ft/lbs. Torque the left side first and then the right. I spoke to Skyway on the phone and said that they needed better instructions describing which pieces went on the left and which on the right with an exploded view showing how the pieces stack. Skyway said "great idea" but it appears that instead of using my idea he just stopped supplying the instructions.

Never done this install but plan to install T-rexx sliders soon. The instructions for t-rexx say to install one side at a time. Can't recall if they say left first or right first.

If you still need to know I can check the instruction sheet tonight. PM me if you want me to.

Ah, good point. What I meant to say was probably don't remove both bolts at the same time. Hey you never know, maybe his wife likes to help work on the bike and they do it together. LOL. Why is it that the wife thinks bike accesories are a waste? Maybe it's just my wife.

Installed mine the end of last year. I remember there was a long bolt and a short bolt.

The long bolt goes on the left side.

Do one side at a time and you should be ok.

Its been stated here to use lock-tite on the threads if you have some, if not, add it to your mx plan to check the tqs somewhere in the future.

As stated above, tq to 35 FT Lbs.
