Weird, I think I have ESP...I was thinking yesterday....Skyway should design a new kickstand for the Feej, that tiny foot is gay...this is a perfect solution instead of designing an entire kickstand.

I'm in too!

What about a shameless plug for the forum?

Or a theme along the lines of zzzzip's idea of leaving a mark on soft ground?

Sweet, especially if it's prominent enough to imprint hot asphalt!

The windscreen stickers I ordered yesterday should cover the plug for the forum quite well. If you put one on the sidestand plate, TWN might try to sue us the next time he sets it down on top of his toes. Let him sue the Mother ship!

BTW, I'm definitely down for one!

Me too. One of the vendors has a foot which you attach to the sidestand on a KLR but it has to be welded on and that does not work out real well for me.

Instead of the proposed FJRforum.com logo on top of the foot plate, how about ................................. "Engage first gear".

For those folks who might need that helpful nugget of advice! <_<

Skyway-

On behalf of my wife, I must ask that you please stop designing all of this cool stuff for my bike as my wish list continues to grow!

how about designing an entirely new replacement kickstand that can kick forward just a bit more for stability?

mine never feels completely locked forward when down.

You could grind a little off the sidestand stop, I've heard this will let the bike tilt over a little further.

Adding to the footprint of the sidestand might make it necessary to grind the stop anyway. The bottom of the stock sidestand "foot" is not flat, it's sorta V-shaped. Adding a larger "foot" might make the bike rest on the edge of the larger foot, depending on the surface angle it's resting on (think parking lot with a fairly steep drainage grade, or any unlevel surface). This is what I experienced after welding a piece onto my old Connie's sidestand, but that bike leaned over more on the sidestand so it didn't matter too much in that case.

Having said all this, I'm definitely interested in your new idea. I'd buy one - even if it was $50 that's damn cheap insurance against a tipover in hot tar - even cheaper than TOG's!

Good idea!
