Hi Ian,The postman just dropped off my hydration system, and I'd just like to thank you for making available such a fine piece as this. The clear anodize looks incredible and the bag is first rate. I'm looking forward to putting it to good use this year. Again, thanks for all your efforts in making our beloved FJR even better! :clapping:
Thanks for the positive feedback, and I'm right with you with a big +1 on the clear anodize. :dribble:

Postman dropped mine off also but I am too tired from farkling the Wee Strom today to put it on. Maybe tomorrow. Which side is the the majority mounting it on and why? mike

The clear anodized looks fabulous. What a great job of design and workmanship. Now to find the jug.

Ian had told me a while back most would probablly put the jug on the left side as most folks get on from the left side so when you swing your boot over the saddle it won't hit if mounted on the right. Makes sense to me. PM. <><

I received my Skyway sliders a couple of days ago and my Hydration system yesterday . Both are extremly well made, thanks Skyway.

Now all I need is warm weather and a motorcycle to put them on , it should be showing up shortly.

Thanks for all your great work Skyway.

Mac :clapping:

Got it installed . Used an impact driver to loosen the two peg screws. Got the neoprene on, wet the neoprene and just worked it up while blowing on the tube. But I got a problem I can't seem to figure out. How do you hook up the two straps to the base? I have tried one wasy with one piece of the strap through the base and the other over the top. Tried both through the base and let the adjuster be the stop. When I pull up they come off. I don't want to loose it on the highway skyway. :dribble:

Anyone? Thanks and what a great product. I put it on the left but might change it to the right because I use the peg to mount up because of the fuel cell. I hated to cover up the base plate it was soooo nice. mike in Fremont, Ca.

Mike,

You might try something like this (viewed edge on). Don't know if this is what Skyway had in mind. Once you have it cinched down and it's under tension, it seems to hold tight, but I'm still searching for a better solution.

Perhaps, this. It would hold better if tension were removed.

YMMV...

I tried the technique in your first picture. After fiddling with it a little bit, I've decided to sew the strap on permanently. I don't want to be loosing my new farkle on the road & that strap seems to be troublesome.

Not enough strap length to go that route. Maybe just get some longer strap pieces at REI or a new holder. No biggie just wanted to make sure I am not as illiterate as I seem sometimes. Mike

I'm pretty sure this is the technique I used to hold mine down and I had no problem with it. However if you guys want to sew it for a guaranteed secure fix, then have at it.

I just want to let some of the late comers after the GB date had ended, will have to wait about another week for me to get the necessary components together to fill your order. There's about 5 of you altogether. I fubared on the amount of black powder coated bases that got shipped to Finish First. <_< Their on the truck as we speak and as soon as I get them back, they will go straight out.

Everyone else should be getting their stuff at any time, except maybe the guys way up north digging snow ATM. :p

Ian,

The hydration systems arrived just 10 minutes ago. I' ve opened the box and ...WOW, Very nice. 2 black bags, 2 black bases, 2 sets of hardware and all the parts. :clapping: Thank You.!!!! :clapping: Now I just need to wait for some warmer weather and spend a weekend installing all the parts I've got waiting in the basement... I love my FJR!!!

Thanks Again,

Erik

Looks good! :yahoo:

I just got my fun box of double trouble powder coated in black with black nylon. Gonna be fun tonight after I get done with my meetings. VERY QUALITY LOOKING WORKMANSHIP Ian!!!!

Nice stuff, Ian, Thanks !!

So - was mine the only one in all yellow? (had to match my Roadcrafter, ya know...)

I'm wiring up the pump on my aux tank right now - or I'd go install it this evening.
