When it comes to riding lawn-mowers (sorry Ian  )

Somebody plant a big o'l size 12 up my ***. I just gave "It" some more character. It was 85 here today and time to cut the grass for the first time this year. After coaxing the the rider back to life for two hours I got-R-done. After blowing the clippings off the Z-turn I was backing it back into its home past my bike when some part of the mower topples the bike. I have the bike on the center stand and still can't figure out what hit the bike, but she rocked forward with me just a watching her go down. Part of her resting on the back of the mower and has knocked the fuel line out of the fuel filter. Gas is flowing everyplace. I get the mower out of there and handle the leak. Then I go to examine the damage. The bike is resting beautifully on the slider (thanks Ian :) ) and the muffler. No plastic touched down. I pick the bike up (this is a really easy bike to lift BTW. I almost threw her over the other way) and check for damage. a small scuff on the engine cover. no big deal. But the bag and fastbag, 3 inch GOUGES in both. not a minor scratch. When it went down on the mower it ran across a metal tang that dug into the plastic. Time for astro-turf

Glad to hear it was not worse, and it is good to know Skyway's sliders do what they are intended to do. I have ot had a chance to test them yet...

"Skyway Sliders - Wonky tested, and approved!"

So - does the MSF offer safety classes for riding lawnmowers?

Dude! WTF are you doing cutting grass? Move over here. We just wait and bail the stuff.

P.S. Stay away from my bike.

damn it... and here I thought you could ride!

exactly how much tread was left on the z-turn? put the strada-e's on the z-turn!!!!

echo scab -- stay away from my bike.

Looks like it time for fencer to start looking at a riding mower refresher course  .....& aren't mowers supposed to be kept in the "shed".....away from the 2 or 4 wheeled toys & the garage :derisive: ....

What A Pisser!!!! I swear, Yamaha has made more money from replacement part orders, than actually selling FJRs.

You going to just order a new lid or take it to a body shop and have them repaint?

I'll prob just live with it to remind me what a DA I am.

I am surprised that my wife and (neighbors) didn't poke their heads out at the giant one word F*CK I bellowed.

Sorry to hear of the nudge-over fencer. :(

I suggest you ride out to CA and get some lane sharing experience, on the mower that is. :D

I park the riding lawnmower on the other side of my wife's SUV, as far from the FJR as I can get it. I get paranoid just dragging the trash barrel out near it. Sorry about your bike.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune.

But there you go, another defective side stand issue if I ever saw one.
