Slip-on Exhaust for 2006 FJR

I am looking to replace the stock mufflers on my 2006 FJR (22k miles) with aftermarket slip-ons. What are the most common, or popular, replacements for this bike? I would like something with a nice exhaust note and a little louder than stock. I am open to all types: SS, CF, etc.

Any recommendations?

I like my Leo Vince Carbon with the quiet inserts, with the inserts they are a tad louder than stock.

I'm running the Beowolf and I like them really well, good quality and not overly loud. Only got them because another member here wanted to trade.

So here are my assholes: I'm partial to the Holeshots or Staintunes.

How about prices boys? I know the Staintunes are freaking pricey, how about Asshe's Hexacones? Aren't they $$$$$ too?

I found this video by doing a Google search and the Beowolf sounds really nice with the baffles out!

Yes they are. But we're talking about spending someone else's money here, and he didn't stipulate a price ceiling. I've already bought two, yes TWO sets of Remus.

If I had it my way, all my pipes would be titanium and carbon fiber!

Well, I actually need to replace the pipes. The left one has somehow goten a huge dent in it and looks horrible. It's not affecting performance but really does look bad on an otherwise very clean bike.

There's a mix of different sounds on this..really nice.

Listening to the after market items, they have a bit more character and throaty sounds.

I have the D&D and they are similar to the others, with their own character as well.

I will have to say, that when it comes to after market exhaust you have to get adjusted to

the sound. With the stock I was use to hearing the exhaust when it got close to high rpm or redlining.

However with the after market the sound is at throttle roll and increases, so it' no where

close to redlining...LOL. It just takes some getting use to, that's all.

All the exhaust sound great.

I will add, that I was pretty proud of my exhaust when I put them on. I was grinning, saying to myself

wait till my cruiser pals take note of these, won't be laughing anymore making swoosh sounds.

Then, went riding with the v-twin crowd and their noise maker's and the FJR was nowhere near

as intrusive and loud as those pipes......they still drown out the Feej.

I am very curious about the D&D. I live north of Fort Worth and know tons of guys that have them on their sport bikes. However, I went to their website and saw nothing about a model for the FJR. I emailed them last week but haven't heard back yet. Do you have a model#? How much were they?

I picked up this full Muzzy system for about $650...direct from Muzzy. love it. Make sure you get an oval can... round cans look a little funny on the big FJR. Nice smooth exhaust note with the optional "quiet baffle". There's a lot of nice options for FJR exhaust.

I have a set of the D&D SS aluminum mufflers and midsection pipes that I just pulled off of my 2008 FJR. The previous owner, according to his son, bought them to replace the left (sitting on the bike) pipe that suffered a very minor ding in the end of the stock muffler. Picky, to my benefit. (God Rest His Soul; he passed away last fall from cancer, of course)

I put 100 miles on them since buying the bike 3 weeks ago, and switched them out for the stock ones. Now I have the dent to contend with, but I prefer the quiet whine of the stock system. The throaty pitch is cool, no doubt, but I can't see long rides with that tone. That is why I don't like running with Harleys.

If you are interested, maybe we could do some bartering. I even have the box they came in, along with the packing and original receipt. Hell, the tail cones aren't even dirty. I'll send a pic if you'd like. (if I can figure out how. I don't see the option in this Fast Reply section...)
