What if?
Bob just got up one morning and decided he was spending too much time on his virtual life, and went outside to smell the roses.
Interesting thought, but the OP felt the necessity to post an exit message, inviting this inevitable ensuing drama

Shades of Stuart's "Hey look at what I can do!"
He probably posted an exit message because he's been here for a long time and made many friends and it was his only way to let them all know at once that he wasn't going to be around. Nothing wrong with that. Is there an easier way to contact a few 100 people that come and go over time and let them know why you won't be at the local place any longer?

FWIW, I don't think Bob is posting on any of the other forums either. Laser Dude could be exactly right. The man may have just wanted to communicate with his friends in the easiest and most convenient way.

In any case, the "drama" that was a result of his message is probably a large part of the reason he does not want to be part of the forums for a while.

I am saddened that so many of you were able to see only the worst and say the worst about a man who has been such a wonderful contributor to this forum and this community for so long. He is a popular figure at many FJR gatherings, and he has given far more to this group than most of us here.

Sad. Really sad.

Ding,ding,ding...like I said way back at the beginning of this thread...HE'S NOT ON ANY OF THE FORUMS ANYMORE. You CAN find him on Facebook, if you care to.
Does he do MySpace? I am VERY resistant to change!

124 posts and not one sheep reference.

What the hell is this forum coming too?

(Somewhere in the tri-cities, MC007Rider chortles and says to himself, "I'd call that a damned improvement.")

I think his posting of a farewell was simply his way of saying goodbye. And that's all. Forums are fun and informative but I think most of us have a saturation point where the need to be online chatting isn't as important as it once was. People have different needs at different points in their lives. Pretty simple really. I don't think his intention was to create drama.

I'm not on here much anymore, pop in once in a while for a quick browse, but certainly not as much as I used to. No big deal, just explaining why it took so long to have seen this thread. So I thought I'd just post to say adios to Intech but I hope to cross paths again with Bob down the road. He's a heckuva lot more fun in person.

Damn. Guess I've been gone for more than a few days.

I'll echo TripperMike: Sorry you're gone, Intech. I'll be looking a little harder at FJRs I see on the road now.
