I find myself in need of a new windshield W... (and some Novus Plastic Polish for the light lenses).

Dropped my damn bike at the gas pump, thought I had my foot down on the island and over she went. I caught it, while resting it on the side of the gas pump... No biggie just some scratches, some will buff out others not.

Looks like the W took the worst of it (of all things) but it didn't break.

I recently used the power of internet competition, mixed with some "Why should I drive past two other dealers to get parts from you?" to negotiate a cost plus 20% deal at a local dealership. Might be worth a try....

Mike Kolstad is no longer with UMotors. Another victim of the change of ownership. And......while doing some parts pricing comparsions not too long ago, I emailed UMotors to get their prices, and I never got a response. I will never buy anything through UMotors again. BTW, based on a phone call previously to price a main wiring harness, UMotors is no longer all that competitive anyways.

Now listen up peeps. I have been extolling the virtues of my new discount price vendor for several weeks now. PAY ATTENTION!

Go to ZanottiMotor.com for the cheapest prices on OEM parts. WORD!!!!

I price checked approximately 8 different vendors, and they were cheapest on 95% of everything. Plus, on a recent order, their shipping was very reasonable.

Others to try (good, but not quite as low as Zanotti) are Yamaha Sports Center (where forum member Tony O works), flatoutmotorcycles.com, and ronayers.com.

So renengade, since you started this thread, go price check your piece at all the above vendors, and report back to us with the results.

So it appears that rumors of Umotors Demise are greatly exagerated. After swapping emails with Mike Kolstad ([email protected]) He's now the parts manager of their new location in Fergus Falls MN...

Pricing was reasonable/inline too for same parts listed above...

W bracket $46.28 Mirror $61.69

I haven't ordered form anywhere yet.... My W is rashed but it's not broken. Mirror is same. I think I'm going to leave it for now and spend some $ on things not related to vanity.

Correction to my above post. Kaitsdad did some follow up and Mike Kolstad is still with University Motors, but he is now parts manager at the Fergus store. Those asshats at the Fargo store told me he was no longer with the company.

So you can still reach Mike through traditional methods (his email). No doubt he provides excellent customer service, though I don't think his pricing is as competitive as it once was.
