https://weather.aol.c...lbrook/id/92088 Looks like great weather for Monday's ride! We Zonies may get a few rain showers on the approach to Temecula on Sunday evening, but we Arizonans really don't melt in the rain; however, we don't like it!

Looks like we all lucked out and are going to slip through this on-going rain storm. Today in SD it's mostly clear with a few patchy clouds.

Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas to all you boys and girls. Now that you have unwrapped your latest farkles and cleaning up from under all the paper wrappings and cookie crumbs, you are making a clear, but still with a groggy head, path for the upcoming Monday SoCAL ride. If there is a desire for still more munchies, this Monday could include some brownies at the meet and after lunch. Should I wing it and bring some or if you think you might want to recooperate from your recent indulgence (excluding Johnny80s & FJR Bluesman). MsNASCAR said she is inclined not to whip up a batch of the nutty, gooey mixture for baking.

Let's hear it, should I bring some brownies or not? :dribble:

That pegscraper avatar... Who's that old mature man with Ms.NASCAR? :p
Hey South San Diego County Mooks, the Zonies are meeting up with our buddy Bill Z. in Pine Valley today at 1530 hours; if you wanted to accompany us north through Julian. We've had a change of lodgings for tonight, some of the crew wanted to gamble at the Pala Casino, so we'll be staying there tonight. Don's Cell: 480-440-4666.

"Don,

My plan is to meet you Sunday at 3:30 in Pine Valley. When you get off I8,

head north into town 1/4 mile where you'll come to a stop sign. That

intersection is Pine Valley Road and Old Highway 80. At that stop sign you

have to turn right or left. Look to your right and across the street is a

small town gas station. That's where I'll be at 3:30PM. There's a couple of

restaurants and a coffee shop if you guys want to take a break.

Something I ate today doesn't agree with me but I'm 90% percent sure I'll be

fine tomorrow. On the off-chance I'm not there, don't wait for me. Cell is

602 76x xxxx. Call if plans change.

Bill"

Thanks for the heads up Don. I would be all over a quick run up to Julian but can't get away today. See you tomorrow.

Currently light drizzle in SD.

I think I speak for everyone when I say yes please bring the brownies.

Heads up to all riding Monday, I just received a cell call from Neil, who is on Mount Palomar now and reports mud & water on the road at mile marker 47.4 and debris around the next curve beyond that one.

He said he will be around mile marker 6 tomorrow when we ride by. I worked a deal out with him that if he promises not to shoot out our tires we would somehow try to scare the elk, driving them in his direction.

Thanks Neil for the heads up. And to everyone else riding, remember that there will be other spots that could make this an unfortunate experience.

On a positive note, MsNASCAR said brownies will be fortcoming.

I won't be making this ride tomorrow. I am having electrical problems. I thought it was just a dead battery but it seams to be something deeper.

I will see you all at Nessy's to say hi.

Toooo bad. No ride, no brownies.

Kidding of course.

MsNASCAR said she doesn't want me to bring any back because if they were laying around the house, she might be tempted.

That must be how she keeps so trim. And all along I thought she was trying to keep things like that away from me.

To all the Southern California FJR Forum Crew: Many thanks to all of you for a wonderful day of motorcycle riding with a great group of guys. Fisherman's Restaurant was great! Special thanks to Roy - McRide for organizing this event and kudos to Richard - Fairlaner for being the Ride Master. Dave, Robert and I are safely back home.

From Bill Z.:

I met Don, Dave and Robert yesterday in Pine Valley, CA and led them through the twisties into Julian and then on to Fallbrook, CA where they spent the night at the Comfort Inn. Pine Valley is up in the mountains east of San Diego. It was 65 degrees in San Diego and dropped to 45 in Pine Valley. I got a hot coffee while waiting for the guys. They rolled in 10 minutes after I got there and were all cold. They all got hot coffee and added layers. Dave asked me,

"Is it going to get any cooler going to Julian?"

"It might get a little cooler but it will definitely not get warmer!

After Julian the twilight faded and we came down the mountains west of Santa Ysabel. It was great: it's dark, twisting mountains roads (think the road to Canyon Lake) and fog. I'm sure Don will add more later.

Just before we pulled out of Pine Valley:

All - Please ride safe and have a great ride tomorrow. Say hello to all for me.

It was still great seeing you johnny80s, a bummer that you couldn't ride with us; remember what your Papa Chuy told you though, fire the damned Goombah mechanic you have working on your motorcycle!
