I was thinking of going home via Idyllwild/Warner Springs/Ramona and home. Ive never ridden Idyllwild and I figured since I was alreay in that neighborhood why the hell not.
Slappy,

I will ride the route through Idyllwild with you. I have gone down the Banning side of the mountain but never up, so that would be fun.

Not sure what your budget is but that area around redlands and your hotel isnt the best one around. I wouldnt be able to sleep with my bike outside in that area. Rancho Cucamunga is only 10 or so miles away and it is a much nicer hood. I cant imagine it costing to much more to stay somewhere a little nicer.
how bad is bad? if it is common to find cars on cinder blocks then OK I'll move. i have been to some VERY bad hotels in south San Jose but everything is always locked up tight. when i go any where with the bike all the bags come off. then it put on center stand with a cover ( helps prevent people from getting on it)
I have only driven thru the area so I really cant say exactly how bad. I have never seen cars on blocks and if i had to rate it I would say 4 out of 10. Probably no worse then san jose.

Still working on the details. Speaking for myself I would like to do something as far north as possible. Let the old farts like Bluesman keep the old bones from locking up before we get to Big Bear.
How does something like this sound. All the San Diego folks meet at our normal place off of 15. Pick up the LA Orange County folks at a place of their choosing in Temecula.
hey Slappy,

New guy here. Was wondering where the normal place off of 15 was, for the San Diego folks? That is if I can join you all on this ride...

tks!

I believe a fair time for everyone would be 9am we head out from 10/38 area. That seems to be the usual starting times.

Pilot if you want to join me your more that welcome. I have begged to ride that road since I moved to San Diego. I found it accidentaly many moons ago and wanted to take a motorcycle on it ever since.

What Neil says in the post after this one. Its the Starbucks on the West side if 15. Get off at North County Fair and go West. First intersection you will see a Shell station. Ride through the Shell and you will see the Starbucks on your right.

You started this mess Slappy. Go back to the first page of the post, and put all the details. It's getting tough for us morons to follow.

If you don't do it, I've already arranged for LLFJRP to ditch you some where! :p

Sure you don't have to moon any large transportation operations? :p
I'll moon some Harleys, that'll keep me happy.
Tell ya what. When we get to Big Bear, we can all park in front of Chad's while you go in, order a beer, and moon all the harley drivers. We'll wait for ya.

Really, we'll wait.

Really.

:D

Mooning is so much easier in a Kilt.

I will post the tentative route if someone can get me the Address of the Starbucks up at the 10/30 intersection.

The route I posted on post #28 has a starbucks at the 10/30 interchange. Here is the address for it 627 Orange St, Redlands, CA 92374

I am a possible starter for this ride on August 23. However, I will not be able to confirm until nearer the date. Sundays are my normal riding day....but this sounds like a fun ride and a chance to meet some fellow Forum members. I will be coming from the La Canada area (near Pasadena) and will meet the group wherever you agree around the Riverside area.
