I have a new box of 4 Iridium plugs CR8EIX that I bought for my 2007 but never got around to using them. They will not work on my 2014. Asking $22.00 and will ship free to lower U.S. 48 States.

NGK says they will
I have not seen any confirmation of this...

NGK lists CPR8EA-9 for this application. Not sure whether there is an iridium for the application - at least not in North America.

The tech at NGK says it will work but the electrode is a little shorter but makes up for its shortage with less resistance to fire as I understood it.

Personally, I would like to have that in writing from the NGK guy before I used it for my bike! (Just wishful thinking on my part - not an issue for my 2007)

 
I do know quite a few guys are running them with no issues. I ran them in my 05 & would have no issues putting them in my 2014 when the time comes.

Since the sale is done, I'll offer this about the spark plugs being discussed.

CPR8EA-9
C=10 mm thread
P=Projecting insulator
R=Resistor
8=Heat rate
E=19 mm thread reach
A=Special design
9=0.9 mm gap


Iridium CR8EIX Gap 0.031" CPR8EA-9 Tip configuration: projected Construction: Special design Gap 0.035"

The Denso 5362 IU24 Iridium Power Plug does mention the FJR in their Fitment guide ('03 - '05). Gap 0.035"

All earlier FJRs specified a CR8E plug, Gap 0.031"

All these plugs should be interchangeable based on dimensions. For reasons only Yamaha knows, FJRs from '13 and up specify the projected tip plugs. While you as a rider may not be able to tell by feel the difference between the recessed and projected tip plugs I'm sure the engine will do something fractionally better with the projected tip plugs. Probably emission related.

If you are doing a plug style swap be sure to do a side by side dimensional verification.
