Best of luck. Take your wife out to dinner.
These are the sentiments of the week around our house! Unlucky timing at an intersection and lucky to be walking. And still around to be able to take the wife out to dinner. All in all life is very, very good.

Quick update and glad to see it happen: got the insurance check and deposited it. Signed 1 paper that had to do with title transfer, signed nothing (nor was I asked to) about medical condition, release, etc. Loan on crashed truck is paid off and I got 10,3xx. Put 8000 down, put 2300 back for "other", including a weekend away just for her if she wants. It's something she's casually mentioned a couple times. Saved bits of money lots of ways: no gap insurance as I already have 12K equity with the money down so there's no way to get upside down with it. Could have gotten .9% but would have to give up rebates to do it so I save $14XX over 5 yrs by having a little higher interest and more off the price. It's 80/mo less than I was paying so any insurance increase should be covered easily.

Signed the papers around 11 am today for a truck. And, believe it o' not, actually will wait for a delivery from another dealer. I know, I said I wouldn't but I did. Getting over the anger of the crash helps I guess. As expected it's a step backwards in terms of comfort package but it's nothing I can't live with.

2013 F150 4x4 SuperCab Stx Pkg plus a couple cute chrome extras. Gots to have little bling! I'm good. Get it in the morning.

Congrats on the new truck. I drove a rental F150 and was really impressed with the fuel economy, performance and comfort.

You know you'll have to put the nail in this thread with pics of the new ride, right?

We have had our 2012 F150 XLT super crew cab for about a year and a half. Really comfy for driver and passengers. I can get more in the back seat than I could in the Ford Edge with the seats down and it gets great gas milage for a barge.

Only had one drunk fall out of the back. Just ask Richard.

Did we really need to know that? Really? I have not used a back seat for that sort of thing for many years. On the other hand if it worked like you say, I might be willing to buy a damned Ford.

I know, I've been a little slack on this. Still dealing with a minor issue, getting the run-around and showing my azz b/c of it. It amounts to $237- if I get it fine, if I don't fine too, just don't jack me around. That really p!sses me off....

So, without further ado, my new 2013 F150 SuperCab 4x4 STX. Picked it up Friday morning. It ain't bad....

Going later today for a spray-in bed liner. And I've already ordered window visors and mud flaps, they should be here by the weekend. And I talked with the "old" finance company- I had added some extra stuff to the 5 yr loan on the old truck so I get a refund for 2 yrs. Comes to $640, easily enough for the things listed above.

Nice SCAB. I grew to have a love/hate relationship with my suicide doors. I packed for a trip and opening both doors like that makes it super easy to get stuff into the front or back of the cab. Then we had a kid, and while at home it made loading him in the truck super easy, trying to access that back area with a car parked right beside you and a kid in your hands makes for a difficult ballet with the doors. Doesn't sound like you'll be having those problems though.

Oh, and after you get the bed liner put in...go wash that thing!

No kids here so that's not a problem. Just a couple medium sized dogs to tote around once or twice a year. I prefer the suicide doors, I like having all my stuff right there so I don't have to walk around. I do make it a point to park out a bit when shopping just to make it easier- BTDT with some bonehead parked right up next to me.

I couldn't help it, I just had to 4 wheel it for a little while yesterday

. A little dust never hurts. And it's still shinier than my last one had been for the past 2 yrs!

That's a good lookin truck.Congrats!
Thanks!

So I stops by the Ford dealer where I bought it thoroughly prepared to show my azz again over the unfinished business I mentioned and lo and behold the lady comes out and hands me a check for 247.94. Cool beans! Now I think all the monetary/insurance PITA stuff is D-U-N done. WooHoo!!

A nice mud pattern slung up from the wheels is good on the truck. Dust...meh, not so much. :D

Ooooooh. Purty...I love Fords.
Yes, but you love men as well. Your opinion is worthless.

As far as MY opinion goes, I don't love Fords. But that is a very good looking and very useful looking truck. I will spare you any suggestions for the "Things you need to do to it", I always hate it when folks do that to me.

I've already started on "things". Today was Line-X spray in bed liner, window visor/vent thingees and splash guards at the wheels. Looking at some rocker panels and/or some pin striping, mostly to break up the solid color some.

That's because you buy crappy trucks that need things done to them right away. This gentleman has purchased a quality vehicle which needs nothing. Not saying you can't do stuff, but we don't feel the need to tell him that because his truck is just fine because he has taste in vehicles.

Before you say anything, go look at that ugly ST and you know you have poor taste in vehicles.

OUCH!! Truth hurts don't it Fish Boi. Hondas and Chevys. What could be worse??

'Crept I donno that I'd be gheying up my truck with rocker panels and pin stripes...but it's not my money!

No, don't worry about my feelings. I'll be alright. You guys just go ahead and keep saying mean things about me.

The only thing I had to do "right away" when I bought my GMC was to install a Gooseneck trailer hitch. That way when I have to tow a broken down Ford I can load the whole thing on the trailer. I found out that towing a Ford behind my GMC literally ran the wheels off the Ford. The Gooseneck keeps them all in one piece.

With regards to my "Ugly ST", well... You know I really don't have a defense for that one. It is even uglier than usual right now as I rode it through some road construction in the rain. It is much muddier than that teeny little Ford right now.

But that is a really good looking Ford. I like the charcoal gray and I like the way those wheels look on the truck as well. Ford has always put better looking and more appropriately sized wheels and tires on their trucks than GM.

Red don't let these yahoos mess with you about the ST. It was a few short rides on one that convinced me the Sport Touring platform was for me.

I then researched several competing makes and decided on the FJR

I appreciate the support. They are always mean to me.

I do love my ST but... It ain't pretty. Honestly, I always enjoy the back and forth sarcasm with 'Zilla and Jasen. Good guys actually. I don't mind them picking on me, goodness knows I pick on them enough. I still owe Jasen a lunch.

At least this thread is happier now than it once was. Even if 'Zilla is still here.

Jesus in a Jeep!

All this ghey-azzed talk about trucks, fer frickin' sake?!?!

You guys need to check yer man-cards and go look at some **** involving two breasts, not four wheel drive.

FerFuckSakes!

Dont be talking about **** and ****s unless you're lookin for a rule violation. Make sure there's a FJR with the ****ies.
