Hey GZ-

I'm a compete idiot on this stuff and I have questions...

1. Is the route accomplishable on a stock tank? No extra fuel cells needed? Even if running at, uh, 'Rally Nominal Speeds"

2. Can an incompetent map idiot complete the route without GPS? We all don't have $$ for GPS farkles you know..

3. How many of the miles are on twisty "gotcha-corners" in the middle of the night? Not all of us have HID's ya know..

4. As time goes on, let us CBA dudes/dudeetes know if someone is willing to lead us?

5. You rock - putting on an event of this magnitude is an awesome endeavor. Congrats...

ps. I hate you. You make me get that butterfly in the stomach feeling..

Hey - you wouldn't mind if I do this on 134k 1991 Harley would you???? :yahoo:

DCarver, you worry too much. And no ones an idiot.

ANY Spank event is meant for ALL levels of riders. Sure, I make sure the Big Dogs get a hand full, but I can also ensure that beginners are challenged but not to the point of impossibility. All levels of riders will have a great and safe time.

I can't hold your hand and tell you where EVERY tight turn is. You need to be responsible for your own ride.

All route's are easily done by those with stock tanks. Easy.

You needn't be a GPS whiz. Basic map reading skills are all you need. Can you find the way to San Jose?

As for you CBA dudes, I don't know what to say. Spank prolly can't help you, except the Finishers Banquet should more then satisfy.

I won't shit you man, and any heavy dude will tell ya, Spank got back. It's got YOUR back.

Whether you're Jim Owen ( "Spank 2006 was the most challenging rally I ever rode" ) or Tom Sperry ( "I've never had so much fun!!!" ) I guarantee you the ride of your life. It really depends on you and what you want to accomplish.

Come challenge yourself. You wont regret it. And we can accommodate those butterfly's in yo stomach.<G>

And then of course theres the beer and Arrogant Bastard onion rings.

Ya dig? Sho nuff.

Well, this is not an all FJR event.

You'll be up against a few Harleys perhaps as well as some Beemers.

Anyone of you should make for great entertainment.<G>

Received my Rally Information last night -

This looks to be fun ...

Come on, Boys and Girls - let's get signed up !!!

You won't even need a GPS for this one -

And lots of Food and Beer (at the end) ...

Wonky approves - how about your bike? Go ask it, and see what it wants to do !!!

Damn, I'm without internet access for a few days and I miss this announcement! I'll be signing up 'fo sho'

DCarver and anyone else who's "skeered" about rallying.

Don't be scared, and for god's sake, if you own a Hardley AND an FJR, DO NOT enter this rally on the hog. I'm not awarding any points for dollars spent at a dealer for field repair. Dig?

Life is a rally.

"Shit man, I gotta pick up the kids, go shopping, get a video for the wife, get some model glue for the weekend party, then figure out something for dinner".

See what I mean? Life is a rally, and life is what you make of it. Ergo, a RALLY is what you make of it.

So, you wanna win Spank 2007? Then plan on some SERIOUS planning, some SERIOUS RIDING, and in general beating your head against a wall.

Now, maybe you realize you aren't going to win this thing, but you want to have the ride of a lifetime. You will have choices galore of location, type of road, etc, that will enable you to create a ride for yourself that is EXACTLY the kind of fun you crave. You'll be braggin' about your ride for years.

This is the true essence of the Endurance Rally. YOU make YOUR ride happen.

I'm just providing the playing field, you provide whatever game you wanna play. The Spank 2007 Rally is offering unprecedented freedom in the kind of ride you can put in and be a finisher.

This is the part I love the best. The radical dichotomy. The paradox. Spank 2007 is SIMULTANEOUSLY the easiest, and hardest 24-30 hour rally ever devised. I don't expect anyone to believe that today or anytime before the rally, although any Spank alumni would put odds on that being correct. WHATEVER kind of ride you want to put in, you will be rewarded amply.

Invoking Churchill: You have nothing to fear, but fear itself.

So set your fear aside and wo/man up to the challenge. Whether it be the Cal 24, 1088, LOE, MN1K, or Spank, get off your complacent coccyx and sign-up for something. ANYTHING!

As any major dude will tell you, it's addicting stuff. I don't even have to give samples to make that true.<G>

Call me the RP. The Rally Pusher.

Ya KNOW ya wanna.

HEY !!

Just wondering if ya'all are goin' to sign up -

October is right around the corner - and this looks to be a really fun time - That, and it's my cherry poppin rally - so at least you'll have some entertainment at my expense.

So - show up and point and laugh at KaitsDad as he fumbles his way around the state of California- this may be your only opportunity - !! (doubtful, but possible.)

I'm very tempted to sign up. I ain't done a rally, yet, either.

Its the 2400 mile round trip to the start/finish line that is giving me pause.
