Like to ride that route but have knee surgery scheduled at Mayo on 4/26 to correct a previous ACL reconstruction done wrong last year. Any chance on getting the gpx file for the route so that I can ride it once my knee moves correctly again?

Hope the surgery fixes things up and we will see you on the road soon hopefully!

You go get 'em!

Had my ACL recon. over 20 years ago. Though it "worked", it has never been the same. Some pain every day. Lot of pain once in a while. Make them get it right so that you can enjoy that Fast Joy Ride of yours. WooHoo!

Would love to see y'all together on that ride. Still unsure if I am available that day. Will have to wait until closer to the event.

Well we got ourselves quite a group. :yahoo: And with all the **** weather happening this week I think the odds are we'll have a good stretch next week.

See everyone in less than 2 weeks. :D

Marc, I'll ride up there...even if it's cold...like 60s or something on that day...with cloudy skies.

Well it won't get called on account of clouds & cold, I got brand new heated gear to use. ;)

You get here & we'll go riding no matter what the weather.

I gots lotsa morphine you can borrow. CYA there *****.

Pretty full deck for the day. You have space for a Forum newbie?
You're on the list TripperMike, we're happy to have you join us. :D

If you're new to "group rides" no problem, they're a piece of cake.

We'll get you trained. ;)

Weather is looking good.
You got a crystal ball or able see into the future? :p

I hope you're right.

Well we've kind of hit that number where imo, it'll be safer to break this one large group into

two smaller ones. So if there is anyone who has some experience running as a "Captain" & would

like to volunteer let me know. If that doesn't work out we'll come up something else. I just want

the faster guys to feel comfortable & the slower guys to feel safe.

Gramps,

I have a friend that rides with me sometimes that would like to go if you're OK with it. He's got one of the first shaft driven Yamahas(XS750). We ride in SE Mn and that Perkins is where we always meet. I appreciate being invited along but I don't want to screw anything up for you guys if you're getting too many riders.

Regards,

Mark

PS Matt, I have a radar detector but I'm not sure how much good it will do with me being way behind you!

Great idea to split it up, Marc. When we went to the races at RoadAmerica one year, we had 12 bikes. We broke into 3 groups of 4, and the fast(er) guys left first, with the slow(er) guys in the last group. Departed at about 5 or 10 minute intervals, and hooked up at gas stops and lunch along the way. Of course, you need to have a set route and predetermined stops, but it worked great. I can guarantee you that we avoided some crashes that day by splitting up. Group riding dynamics are a strange and potentially dangerous thing. However, it can be a very beautiful thing with 2 to 4 like-minded riders.

On a related note to the ride, I think I came up with an answer to the recent weather issues.

Mother Nature is going through menopause. She's having hot flashes, and needs to cool down, so she's dropping snow and cold rain on us. Evil old bag. Oh, and "global warming" my a$$.

Yeah that's fine Mark I'll add him in.

Yeah breaking up into multiple smaller groups is even be a better idea Scott. We'll hash that all out at breakfast.

I would help...but I don't know the roads...and I have been known to crash while leading and too much looky-loo in my rear view mirror...plus, people complain about gravel and stuff when I lead...like it's MY fault or something.

edit: If I get my GPS sorted out...or if there are turn sheets, I could volunteer to lead a slow *** group..if needed.
