My buddy and I just did a BB1500 last weekend. I just can't say enough good things about the FJR. Close to 1,800 miles ridden in 2 days, varying from riding The Tail of the Dragon Hwy 129 to small town traffic to Interstate, Heat and Rain, it just ate it all up. We had a blast.

As far as the FJR. I really didn't expect riding this many miles to be so easy/comfortable and just plain fun. It was a great time. We did waste WAY too much time at the Dragon and Cherohala Skyway, stopping at a lot of overlooks and talking with other riders. Then when we thought we'd be able to put the hammer down and head home, we realized we had a couple more hours of slow going. So for the last 400 or so miles, we had to move along.
We had a lot of two lane and non-interstate road in the mix, some pretty slow, stopped during the SS1000 for a real meal, were never rushed.
Stock seat, stock windshield. I don't have a problem with either. Knees starting bothering me in the second day, so I moved the seat to the higher position. That took care of it.
Stock shield has always been fine with me, but late in the evening, on the SS1000 after being on the bike 14 hours or so, when I put the windshield high to protect from some rain, and some fatique from the normal lower position, I did feel some buffeting that was rattling my head. I've never felt this on my normal rides, but after so many miles, and probably being a little tired, I did notice it.
I had a new Michelin Road Pilot 2 on front, what an AWESOME tire. Bike handles SO good with this tire. Bike is absolutley stable at speed, no wobble or any issues at all. One quiet section of straight road on the first morning, GPS registered a high speed of 128. Bike was still pulling strong, and felt completely comfortable. That was fast enough, my buddies BMW was getting very small in my mirrors. That was just a run up to speed, then back down, we never ran fast, max of 5-10 mph above posted speed limit all the time. That was still plenty to do the SS1000 and BB1500.
