Here is what I know, first hand, about the dog bones on ebay.
I bought a set to raise the rear when I bought a used wilbers shock. The shock was built to lower the rear 30mm for the original owner.
I have had them on the bike for about 20k miles and in that time the bolt holes have elongated. This caused about a half inch of play at the rear axle. (you could lift the tire up before the shock and spring moved) NOT GOOD!
Upon closer examination I found the ebay dog bones to be thinner than stock parts. This allowed the nut to bottom out on the stepped bolt before properly holding the dog bone tight enough.
If you use the Ebay Dog Bones, you should put a washer at the head of the bolt to avoid the problem.
BTW my bike is a Gen 1 and the raising dog bones were shorter by 1/2 the diameter of the bolt hole. (aprox. 5mm shorter)
Since I now have a 750 lb spring installed on the wilber,(was 600 lb). I now have the stock dog bones back on and will give that a go for a while.
Have fun playing with suspension parts.
