I have a few buddies that harass me continually that FJR owners/riders are old fat people. I take a little offence as I'm neither. However, I am curious where the majority of FJR owners fall. Want to help me prove or disprove the stereotype? Please be honest if taking the poll.

Thanks and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I am over 40 and have less body fat that most 20 year olds. Besides 40 + is not old, currently old is 65+ but that might change in a couple of years

I refuse to say fat...I am well built...this is just a "transitional" period in my life. I refuse to be defined by my photograph! :clapping:

Is 53 old? I don't think so.

And I still fit into my 32/32 Levi's, same as when I graduated college :)

I'm a few weeks from fifty and have something like 23% body fat. But the most important thing is I like to ride.

And I got to tell you I know some overweight over 60 year old guys that go fast as hell. They blow my butt off the road and I dare say can keep up with the younger skilled riders.

So just take those saying FJR riders are old and fat and go out and do a "spirited" ride with them.

The nice thing about getting older is you start not giving a darned what other people think!!

By definition, I am old and fat.

lower half of the 40's spectrum.

At 6"0 and 210lbs (36x33 jeans) by MILSPEC I'm fat

Hey, I just put another hole in my belt to cinch it up tighter - 6'6 @ 200 lbs.

I dropped 40 lbs last 6 months, and now wear 36W - 40L Levis. I'm longer than I am round about.

And I'm STILL 39.

Both my kids are catching up to me.

50 yo here , 260#, I will lose weight soon, In fact, I had my stomach stapled back before it was fashionable (1991), went from 347lbs to 230lbs in 3 months, everyone thought I had aids, I still have the staples and cannot eat giant steaks or a whole chicken, but the milkshakes go down easy as do a variety of other bad foods, Just gotta exercise more. takes me about 30 minutes to eat an in and out burger, what does all this mean?, Nothing as far as the FJR goes. its a the same as an F-14 tomcat fighter jet vs. a F-16 falcon. Both sleek, both fast, both sexy, but the F-14 carries more payload as does my FJR, (My ***), besides, my observation as to "old and fat guys bikes" has me thinking Harley Road King or Dyna Wide Glide with Ape Bars and bags. Which is why I bought an FJR, Most of my bike people I know do Harleys. The FJR is exactly what I wanted despite the fact that I am big boned large frame water retaining dude who still needs to workout more.

I'm 45, 6'1" 186lbs, 34W-34L. The majority of the old fat people i know are riding harley-briggs&stratons. :p

As of right now, I'm in the majority and you can all kiss my ***.

edit: translation - try and catch my fat *** in the twisties. (PUI)

Turned 50 a month or two ago. Still wear 33x32 levi's. 5'9 165lbs. I think I'm doing good.

But I have noticed that their are a few FJR riders who are really quiet about their being... uhm.. drought and famine resistant.

Judging by a majority of clothing sizes available for sale in the classifieds, I'd say things lean heavily towards the "chunky" side of the equation! :lol2:

Me?

49 in about 2 weeks.

6'0 @ 200#

...and Red Hair, as red as the fires of Hell with arms the size of tree-trunks.

Well, everything but that last part. :p

I've watched some of those old, fat FJR guys grind their pegs riding two up. My 17 year old son thought it was an old guys bike until he rode it and opened the throttle, now he wants one. Usually you can't afford a bike like this until you get older (and wiser) so the bike gets a reputation.

Yep,old and fat!

+1, Gunny! 62 years old, 245 lbs., 6'-1", 42 x 32 Levi's, 40 Speedo, 38 thong, still fast enough to keep Fairlaner in spotting distance, still able to hold my own in any pub or speakeasy, Irish by heritage and persuasion, and hung like a fecking draft horse!!!
