SFCJCA
It's a dry heat
I didn't know if I could be successful on the first attempt. But I'm happy to report I logged 1530 miles (by gps) in 22 hours and 1 minute! My trip was from Sierra Vista, AZ to Coalinga, CA and back to Sierra Vista(spotwalla track). I added a stop in Tempe, AZ to add a few miles to the route. I now firmly believe it's the planning before the ride that determines whether you succeed or fail.
Experienced some rain, some sunshine, and temps from the 30s to the 70s. Realize that I need some type of light to read the mileage chart on my tankbag. Some of the gear I know I can't do without: Gerauld highway pegs; Gerauld hydration system, radar detector, GPS, Aerostitch Roadcrafter, warmnsafe electric jacket liner, Laam seat.
This was my third IBA ride (SS1K AUG 2013 and BB 1500 OCT 2013). Next challenge: a 50CC in 2014.
