Not All Who Wander Are Lost
I own and use both Held leather gloves and Motoport synthetic gloves. The synthetic used by Motoport is supposed to be strong enough and abraision-resistent enough to do the job.
In my recent get-off, I had a chance to test the Held gloves and the Motoport jacket and pants. The gloves showed signs of having been tested and they passed with flying colors as my hands did not show any signs of abraision or contusion. The jacket and pants showed no signs of having been tested. I did have a small bruise where there is a gap between the armor on the front and rear of the jacket. Unless I had the great misfortune to have landed exactly on that spot, and only on that spot (unlikely), the Motoport gear did its job very, very well.
So, while I have not tested the Motoport gloves in a get off, I have a great deal of confidence that the gloves will do just fine if ever tested. Add the breathability of the gloves, and the fact that they dry quickly after the inevitable summer thunderstorm, and IMHO the Motorport synthetic gloves are a great option for summer gloves.
