I gettin close on getting the bike together and may just tag along, Jay and I can meet you on 9 some place. That is if I don't go up in smoke from having hooked up a wire wrong!
PM me you phone and we can call you from Seattle. I think we pick up 9 from Highway 2, which means we will probably be there ~9:15ish

I can hookup at the junction of 9 & 2 at 9:15 or so no problem.

I'm a maybe and will post up Saturday evening with an answer one way or the other. If I do join, I will have the route and will also make the 0800 meet in Issaquah. I am also looking forward to playing with my GMRS via PTT through my Starcomm. Sounds like a great day for a test.
Reamer, I am visiting Auburn on Saturday to diagnose my PTT and get my Starcomm set up for bike2bike. Holler if you want to join.
What time you coming by? Beamer you are welcome to come over too if it fits in.
After I drop my wife and boys off at Seatac (gonna be a bachelor for a week). Probably around noon.
See you then

Hey, All, we just got back from a week at Mt. Baker and exploring all the roads forthwith. I'd like to tag along.

Hudson, may I offer up a small deviation to your route that won't add much time?

Just outside Acme, turn right off of Hwy. 9 onto Mosquito Lake Road. It winds and twists and ends up on Hwy. 542. If you turn right onto 542, it'll take you to the Sumas crossing via 547. For a real treat, continue on 542 east to Maple Falls via LOTS of twisties. At Maple Falls, take Silver Lake Road to Sumas. Both these routes together would add about 20 minutes to the ride but you'll not get bored.

Either way, I HIGHLY recommend following 542 to 547 via Kendall, NOT Hwy.9/542 via Deming and Nooksack. Boring, stinky, dirty farm roads.

The last week in that area has been really nice. It rained a day or two and snowed in the higher elevations.

Remember your passport!

FJR is still in apart waiting for Yamaha parts. Might break out the duck. Lets see, ride along, stop ever 100 miles & gas up and then ride like heck to catch up again. Humm ..
We will wait for you, Dave

Sounds like a good suggestion, let me re-route and upload the new map later tonight.

NEW MEETING PLACES:

We will meet at three locations to pick up riders:

1. Triple X in Issaquah 8:00 a.m.

2. Northgate Mall Parking lot to pick up Seattle folks (8:30-45)

3. Highway 9 at 204 to pick up Stephen and Happy Puppy (9:15-9:30)

Not that I need to tell this group, but usual group ride rules apply: no squidly behavior, fast guys run in front, slow guys in back, ATTGATT, 2-3 second rule in following each other, and we will stop if a rider find himself pulling over unless a "pass by" signal is thrown. Several of us will have B2B GMRS, on Channel 1.

Yea you gotta let the coffee out anyhow!

Updated trip information, and updated meeting times/places.

Please see the link below for updated info on the route and details, plus an online map of the route. Looks like we'll have b/t 5-8 guys!

Don't forget your enhanced license or passport, which "may" be needed to enter Canada. We will be dipping into Canada for less than an hour; if you can't cross the border, you can always wait in Bellingham.

I better come along for Niehart's sake...not that I'm a wuss after several miles, I just don't want him to be lonely. Really. My back side needs a break about as often as the duck needs gas. Nice to know there are some 222's half way through the ride for some posterior salvation.

What the hell is squidly behavior? As an old navy guy, I can't decide what to make of that comment. Based on context though, I think I may have exercised some of that behavior on my commute home today.

You can still cross the border with a driver license and birth certificate till June 1 for those who don't have a passport for those meeting up in Seattle I will be in the Northgate Mall parking lot by Nordstroms for a 8:30 departure let know who will be there

This is almost my back yard run! Just to make it different I ride it in opposite directions. It's a nice 300 mile ride.

I've just about got the bike buttoned back up and ready to test fire! Only problem is I still need to do my TBS and haven't learned how yet.

That is good stuff. I guess I wasn't actually exercising what I will now call Air Forcely behavior, yesterday - just good fun riding.

Update for Seattle meet site, there is North bound I-5 construction from 520 to 130th 2 lanes closed, I came home today and it was a parking lot, I think we should move the Northgate meet site to Jack in the box off 164th just north of where 5-405 connect next to Walmart keep the 8:30 departure time

let me know who will meet me there.

Thanks,

Disreguard my meet up @ Jack in the box I will stay with original plan to be @ Northgate Mall parking lot 8:30am

See ya tomorrow
