Well! What a day! Nearly 11 hours of male bonding and feejering. Great folks all around.

Excellent roads... of all types. Lots of new roads to explore later.

Nice buffet lunch... really cheap! There is some benefit for being an old guy!

Fast paced. Not my cup of tea, but it's OK once in awhile. Perfect ferry timing.

Here's most of the gang at the start.

Here's the remaining seven on the ferry.

Stephen,

Great to meet and ride with you and the rest of the crew. Just got in a few moments ago. 415 miles door to door for me.

Dave, thanks for putting this ride together and I am sure we can all make it happen soon.

The "duc" was looking and sounding good and in the capable hands of Mr.B!!

Also a big thanks to Sean? for the ferry payment (I must be getting old as I can't remeber the name) who paid for us all!

Ride safe,

Taff.

I'm a little worried that we lost Happy Puppy. We need to do better than that!

A slight different take on the ride report

Awesome day, awesome company!! Stephen, thanks for your great detour; Taff, for getting us in and out of Canada quicker than ever; Panman, for an awesome side trip, Barabus for covering the ferry, and everyone for a great time, fast paced riding, and getting home in one piece.

That was a great ride, it was good to meet more FJR riders, my left leg cramped bad on the last hr of our ride it was hard to lift up, I borke into my stash of 222 when I got home AAAHHH it works!! I might have to restock when we go to CFR, anyone want to go for a 222 run? I made the mistake of telling US Customs I got 222 he asked how many, I said I don't know?? 100? is said your limit is 50.. I said sorry I did not know I got what Costco sells, I guess I should not have taken so many before the border crossing... just kidding.. he said they sell large bottles, and if I was sent inside I could be fined, he liked my license plate AHCHIU and said have a nice day, when we stoped for lunch I looked to see how much the Costco bottle has, Holly Crap Batman..200!! next time I will say nothing...it was great to do a pre CFR ride with everyone and look forward to our next adventure.

P.S. Happy Puppy (Bob) did you make it home ok?

1. He's OK. He forgot some stuff at the gas stop & had to return.

2. Dave, I have to admire you on the Duc. The last part of the trip was kickin' my old a$$ and I had a windshield to keep from buffeting. You the man! If I was on my ZX-14, I'd had to stop more often and take a lot of 222's! No windshield puts a lot of strain on the neck! I say again... you the man!

3. I just want to say that you guys are a great bunch to ride with... true motorcycle enthusiasts.

4. Barabus, thank you for the ferry. The ales on me next time (when we're not riding, of course!).

5. Terrific ride route. The Whidbey Island route was the shizzle! Try Mosquito Lake Road (and the Maple Falls-Silver Lake-South Pass and Lake Cavanaugh roads) later on in the season when it's cleaner. I only comment on the pace because I generally ride much slower (except the twisties) to gawk, smell the roses, look for photo ops, etc. But this gives me an excuse to rerun our route some other time.

Marcus! Dude, where's the pictures?????

I won the dumb *** award for the day. I filled up after the Buffet and left my wallet on the top of the pump. I was about 20 minutes along when I realized it and had to double back. I figured by the time I caught up you would be at the ferry , so with my tail between my legs I headed back down 9.

Glad you got your wallet, and all is ok. Don't worry about dumb *** award I win that as I was leading the troops and didn't know you were gone till we were a hundred miles down the road! My bad, and my apologies to you and the group.

H-P, when you have a chance like this, take it for all it's worth. INSTEAD of the "I forgot my wallet" story, you COULD have said that some hot wimmens ask you for a ride or some hot wimmens wanted to show you something, etc. Or ask me next time........ we'll think of something REALLY juicy! :yahoo:

Happy, do you think any of us believed that crock of S%$t? You went back to hit on the customs lady.

....either that, or you went back for another waffle at the buffet.
