Griff, thanks for your tutorial on Canadian Beer! It appears Richard's Dark would be most similar to Dos Equis Dark Amber, my favorite la Mexicana cerveza. So Chris, if you'll please have Diana score me a 24 bottle pack of Keith's Dark, I'll settle up with you when I arrive. https://www.santanbrewing.com/ Griff, I'm lucky this is in Chandler, I bring home a refillable gallon each and every week. Saludos!!!
There is no Keiths dark on the list.

Costco only carry the mainstream beers they aim for volume not quality, if you want some thing not on this list then we will have to make a run to the local SAQ when we arrive.

That's not a problem it's about 10 mins away, please note full retail will be at least $10 more per case.

Chris
That's OK, Chris. Just get me Molson Blue Pilsner, Griff is referring to. Hell's Bell's, as long as it isn't god damn light beer and it is high in alcohol content then this El Borracho Viejo es fantastico, ese!
I'd recommend the Stella before either Labatts blue or Molson Ex.

Being as Brit the only Pilsner type beer I like up here is Moosehead (not sold at Costco)

I could never tell the difference between any of the main stream canuck beers.

If you like darker beers the Richards taster pack is not bad either, I'm currently working my way through one now.

Chris
Chris, please put me down for 24 of Stella then; and per the previous post, I'm also going to split a box of blue with Yzerman19. There's a reason I've a beer bottle opener mounted on my FJR Lucy Liu!

Don - You and fairlaner need a life.
Uh Bluesy mi Compadre, Richard and I do have a life. We're a pair of drunks, one Brit and one Irish, who just happen to ride FJR's when we are not drinking and chasing women. "Cougars" in my case!

I know this's like NEPRT tire or oil thread, but what do you Canucks think is the BEST Canadian brewed beer? I want to drink Canadian beer while in Canada, just like I drink Mexican cerveza in Mexico!
Now if you like pilsners, then you should check out the beer known as "Pilsner"! It has an almost cult like following! :D

I don't necessarily agree with the other Jeff that there are no bad beers, I've had many over the years! but I think his statement applies to the beers listed. Most of them are of the super high volume, highly promoted, mass-market beers. My favorites are of the Honey-Brown variety but I'll drink just about any beer that anyone offers me! ;)

Chris,

Are QC prices better than ON prices? Last time I was in ON I thought the beer prices were pretty good. Just curious.

Since I'm hauling the trailer as far as Ontario for this, do you want me to throw a box (or 2) of Pil or one of the BigRock offerings in so there's some decent Alberta beer at the rally? It'll give us something to drink while we're headed across the country too.

Just a thought...

Griff

u r bringin' the trailer! :yahoo: Room for all kinds of 'consumables' :D

Hey, do we have any Canadians from Newfoundland coming to CFR? My Irish Buddy Seamus MacTreinfhir, formerly of Dublin and now a US citizen, just sent me this Newfy zinger joke! Enjoy IT, eh!

NEWFIE AND THE HAIRCUT!

A Newfie stuck his head into a barbershop and asked, 'How long before I can get a haircut?'

The barber looked around the shop full of customers and said, 'About 2 hours.'

The Newfie left.

A few days later, the same Newfie stuck his head in the door and asked,

'How long before I can get a haircut?'

The barber looked around at the shop and said, 'About 3 hours.'

The Newfie left.

A week later, the same Newfie stuck his head in the shop and asked, 'How long before I can get a haircut?

The barber looked around the shop and said, 'About an hour and a half .'

The Newfie left.

The barber turned to his friend and said, 'Hey, Bob, do me a favour. Follow that Newfie and see where he goes. He keeps asking how long he has to wait for a haircut, but then he doesn't ever come back.'

A little while later, Bob returned to the shop, laughing hysterically.

The barber asked, 'So, where does that Darn newfie go when he leaves?'

Bob looked up, wiped the tears from his eyes and said,..........

'Your house!'

It's mostly full of camping gear for my grand tour after (with the missus) but I'm pretty sure we can fit a bunch of ... um... 'consumables' ')

Wow Chris, this is very nice of you both to offer. And those prices are a quite a bit better than here in Ontario. You can put me down for 24 Heiny cans.

Thanx again, Mike

Hey Chris: Put me down for the Rickards variety pack. If Papa Chuy is really good I may share some of the darker ones with him!

I went through a little spell with Rickards Red. Very good beer, when ice cold, but I could never drink more than a couple at once.

Sir Dave, thank you very much for the kind offer; I LOVE dark beer.

Hear you Chris, I was drinking Guinness Stout while watching Indy 500 yesterday and I could only drink 6. But that was because there were only 6 in the pack and I couldn't get Donna to go buy more!

Put me down for a variety also... Damn I hate to think that I'm drinking the same swill as Papa here :dribble:

I'm not supposed to be drinking beer so I guess I'll be packing in a quart of Crown Royal.

Put me down for a Rickards taster please. I know I won't be able to drink them all, so if anyone wants to split it let me know. If not then I'll take the whole case and do my best with it. :)
