No takers from Texas, eh? Man, I really, really want to go to this...but I would need to ride some pretty hard miles there (leave Wednesday night, arrive Thursday early evening sometime). Then a pretty intense ride leaving very early Sunday morning or Saturday night (I need to get back for work on Monday).
Still, I am tempted...

Regards,

Davy
We'll make room for you...I think you will have a bad cold Monday....

And once again, they discriminate against we poor Irish! Like the sign in London's Hyde Park in the Year 1900: "Dogs must be on leash at all times and No Irish Allowed!" Come on Badcat Burk, Old Michael promises to behave himself; moderately!!
How will we know it's the real OM, if he behaves himself? Perhaps he could share a leash with Duke?

Looking forward to this event tremendously. We'll be leaving in the wee small hours of Thursday morning in the hope of getting a jump on the LA traffic. This will my first ride of any appreciable distance, in a very long time.

9 out 10 doctors say you have a very bad cold.

Prescription: Lots of fresh air out west...and we need some more cowbell!

Next year for sure!! (howling like a wolf at the moon) I have another trip planned to Tahoe with a bunch of buddies that has been a annual event for the last ten years. But, to break tradition (wait, the light comes on!) does the SW Fog happen the same time every year? I might could do this gig next year... and break tradition if it happens same time next year... or not break tradition and do it. Me thinks, me will do it regardless next year either same time frame or not! :yahoo:

Cometman, lets get a group planned for next year.

Whoever takes the challenge to organize SWFOG can choose the date. I am hoping to recruit someone to head it up for next year. I think with 25+ folks attending we have a good start to be great rally now and in the future.

You guys sure don't make it easy...

Looks like it will be next year for me. A combination of work, finances (buying a house so every penny counts), and sheer timing dictate my absenteeism at what looks to be a great event.

Have fun and ride safe.

Regards,

Davy

Now if someone can just organize a TXFOG.... :clapping:

I don't know, it will be hard to beat this one. Northern Arizona and Southern Utah! This is it, the best, undeniably outrageous, outlandish and stupendous. Grand Canyonnnnnn, Zion Forestico, some kind of a staircase, parks everywhere. Okay, you talked me into it. How about Disneyland and we get front row parking.

Because of an unusually heavy workload, I'll be unable to make it to Page until Saturday, the 26th.

I'll not be leaving N. CA until Friday sometime, and plan to overnight somewhere in Southern Utah.

Then on Saturday, I hope to hook up with the group on your way to Zion, ride back to Page with y'all,

and join in the festivities. I've changed my reservation to just the one night at the Marriott.

Soooo, my question is, when do you figure you guys will be rolling through Mt. Carmel Junction on Saturday

morning? Roughly.

Ridemaster Beemerdons, thank you in advance for your patience.

Because of an unusually heavy workload, I'll be unable to... miss this.

I gotta hit the road before I lose what's left of my mind.

Plan to leave Bako at o-dark-thirty on Thursday to arrive in Page mid-afternoon.

I'm ready. :yahoo:

Too bad, OM. But at least you're still coming for supper. Good on ya!

Old Michael, we've got you covered Bro. We are departing the Marriott at 0800 and going to Wetdog's house for the group photo, which will take half an hour. It is then 90 miles and 1.5 hours to Mount Carmel Junction: We will see you at 1000.

Oh, and Wetdog and I have you covered for the Group Photo. Wetdog told me there is an old homeless wino in Page that sleeps on the streets with his Raleigh 3-speed bicycle that looks a lot like you. I sent the wino's picture to Dr. Rich and he said that the old wino is actually an improvement over the real OM. Please bring along a bottle of muscatel to tip the wino!

I have it on good authority that OM is actually the old homeless wino's stunt double. There is evidence that OM jumped a motorcycle over a cliff, but sadly the cameras weren't rolling at the time.

Do make sure you bring the bottle of muscatel in a good quality brown, paper bag.

Bah... I have to do an "business related" trip to on Friday, (still going to SWFOG no worries there) but this may push my rear tire to the limit. Any of the locals know of reputable tire/ dealer in the area or some one with a garage with the tools to change a tire? Currently I have a set of Mitch PR2 with about 8k miles on them after the work trip should have about 9K on it. I may not need it but just in case. This weekend I will have the oil and air filter changed out and should be all ready to go.

Whoopie! The way things are looking at the moment I will be able to pass through Page, USA on my way to Colorado. Tentatively planning to arrive in Page on Friday, mid-day. I won't have the bike (I have to haul way too much stuff on this run) but no complaints on this end. I will make my hotel reservations on Thursday if I can pull this off. If the Marriott is booked (which it presently seems to be) I will grab something nearby (per Wetdog's post it should not be an issue).

Badcat, I know you had to firm up the dinner numbers and $ some time ago but are"visitor" passes available for the dinner? I will eat before/after if the venue doesn't want me to bring my own Big Carl!

That's excellent news, Joseph! I hope it works out. We'd love to see you again and hear some more about that brilliant Alaskan adventure.
