As I was looking over the weather yesterday, I could not help but notice all that stuff falling on Colorado and it made me think of Dave & Kyndall (yeah...I got it right) coming from Gunnison. If needed, maybe you can mount a blade on the front of your FJR. Be safe, see you there!

Looks like BadCat did a fine job organizing this ride. We've got a good selection of folks heading to Page. The "El Burrito Ballerina" came through also by directing the bad weather to stay East of the Colorado/ Utah border.

I'm cheating a bit and heading to Flagstaff tomorrow (Wednesday) morning. See all interested parties at Cracker Barrel at 07:30 Thursday morning. I'll have them cook up some extra Hash Brown Casserole for hungryman style!

Thanks, Dan. Though I prefer to avoid it, my FJR has ridden through its fair share of snow. I'm more worried about Kyndall if things get slick. Then there's the fact that her lil' Ninja just doesn't have enough extra juice to power heated gear, so she's gonna' be suffering until we clear Lizard Head Pass (60% chance of snow Thursday morning) and get to Cortez.

You're killing me! :glare:

Lizzardhead. In the snow. On a bike.

Why don't you just confirm your certifiability and head south out of Gunnison through Lake City and over Slumgullion!!

QUOTE (Longrider @ Sep 22 2009, 03:38 PM)

I am leaving Minkler on Wed Morning. Plan to spend the nite in Mesquite. Then on to Page on Thur morning via Jacob Lake. No need to rush Thur, but plan to be there for the Antelope.

Bruce, AKA Longrider

Bruce, what time are you planning on leaving Mesquite? There are 3 of us coming up from Vegas and we were talking about going the same way as you. We should be in Mesquite around 11:30 or so.... Care to wait or are you planning on leaving earlier than that?

Probably earlier. I want to stop by Pipe Springs and look it over on the way to Page.

I never understood why anyone would live where there is snow.....

yech

Have a good trip.

Well I have lined up a local (semi professional) photographer to take a group photo of everyone and a couple more shots. After the ride I'll post the photos for all to download if they wish. I'm thinking a quick trip by my house before we head out Friday morning. I'm guessing we head out around 9ish???? The kid works as a crossing guard and is done by 8am.
Let me know if this sounds okay to everyone???? See you Thursday and Friday....Still planning a short 10 minute ride to the marina for some refreshments Thursday night for all that can make it.
Say Wetdog, just double checking something. You do have the old homeless wino with the Raleigh 3-speed bicycle all lined up to be Old Michael's photo double, don't you? One more thing and I hope this isn't too much of an inconvenience: Do you think you can scrounge up a yellow bicycle helmet to make the picture more "OM Authentic"? Many thanks for this effort!!!

Si, Paco; tu ese: We are departing for our North Rim of the Grand Canyon Ride at 0900 hours. For civilians like Pinhead and Silver Penguin: Mickey's right hand is pointing straight up; and Mr. Mouse's left hand is pointing straight out to the side.

On our outbound route we will be stopping for pictures at the old Marble Canyon Bridge to walk out over the Colorado River.

We will also be stopping at Vermillion Cliffs to take pictures of the incredible rock formations and the Navajo hogan houses.

There will also be a stop for coffee and pie at Jacob Lake. This is not a "Fairlaner Forced March/Ride"! When you travel with Chuy Medina "El Burrito Ballerina" there are stops for La Comida and to smell the mota! Same with amigo johnny80s!!!

FYI, the Penguin is familiar with military time, with or without Mickey's hands' whereabouts. It is now 0535 and I've been up and doing for over an hour.

Dave: Many thanks for showing Burk and I pictures of what snow looks like! Interesting stuff. Is it wet? OM wants to know!!

Its to early for pictures of that white ****. It will be here far to soon. It has been in the 25-30 degree range every morning for the last week. Good thing we don't get **** for moisture on this side of the mountains.

Don, yes it is wet but you desert dwellers are safe cause **** floats. When you guys finally run out of water I can make room for a select few here in NW. Pass the info on to your irish buddy.
