I have not been on this road (yet) but for some reason I wanna be. Not the traditional horizontal twister like we're use to, but ya sure could get your roller coaster fix here! Can you say "AIR" Jordan off the apex?

County Road NS 366. A mile west of Old Highway 56, and about 1.5 miles west of SH56, just North of Wewoka, Oklahoma.

I THINK I'M GONNA HURL!!!!!

If this was in Chapel Hill, I'd be worried about the deer crossing just out of sight just past the top of each one of those hills. Maybe I'm just paranoid.

Maybe not quite as dramatic, but HWY 32 in my backyard heading toward the Tetons (Felt, ID). At WFT.0 we had an FJR train hauling across there at quite a "spirited pace." Of course it was hot, in the middle of summer, and there are almost no cars on that stretch.

I some parts of the world they try to smooth out some of those bumps before laying pavement.

There are some in SE Missouri...it's funny to be in the back of the FJR gaggle when we hit the roller coasters.

You see all the heads pop up over the hills like prairie dogs in South Dakota.

If I wasn't such a ***** concerned for my well being, I would try to get more air. But I've done plenty of stupid things in my life that should have killed me by now, I'm content just to feel the lightness in the front wheel as you careen over the top and down the hill.

Plenty fun times with friends...dang, it's time to get my bike back together now dagnabbit!

KJ,

You don't have to go that far to have that kind of vertical fun road...

Try Roller Coaster Rd (yeah that is the real name of the road) in Strafford, NH. One of the few really straight roads in the area, but with rolly-polly elevation changes for about 2 miles. The only hazard is the relatively low speed limit, easily overcome by an FJR in warp drive with a radar detector.

Kamal is Ka-rect. Between Italy and Switzerland. Purty fun road. We rode it bottom-to-top last summer on the Eidelweiss Extreme Alps Tour. When we got to the top, we stopped for a lunch with an amazing view. At that point, our guide told us "I didn't want to say anything before we did it, but this is one of the few groups I've led up here that made it all the way without any crashes." Nice.

By the way, you see about the last eight of the 48 switchbacks.

By the way, our well-known Highway 36 in Northern California has some fun whoop-de-doodles too, in addition to some very cool twists and turns on the western end (Red Bluff on I-5 to Fortuna on 101). You can get some pretty good lift-off on that road.

Nice.
We have a roller coaster road near Lee Vining, Ca called Hwy 120 on the way to Benton. Guaranteed to have you laughing under your helmet.
That there is the truth. Bug took us on that road on the way to Oregon last September. I laughed my *** off the entire stretch. We shoulda turned around and done it again...Only FASTER!!

I miss that road Doug. Probably the funnest section of asphalt I've even been on. And then you add the curves coming and going....

AJ is right, you will end up LYAO..It was a hoot watching helmets pop up and down like prairie dogs. Not to mention the rush everytime you crested the hills.

The pics you guys shared here look fun .. But cut the spacing between rises down to about 25 feet and add a mile..

I Shall Return!

There's a road like that not too far from Brainerd, Minnesota, a few miles from the racetrack. In 1989, about 15 of us were there for the World Superbike races (Raymond Roche dominated on a Ducati 851/888.......what a SOUND), and you're all correct, I was laughing out loud inside my helmet. Heads popping up and down like a giant Whack-A-Mole game.

There's also a section of road like that just north of the Wisconsin River, between Boscobel and Muscoda. The one I've been on most recently runs parallel to highway 51, just north of Tomahawk, Wisconsin. Pretty sure it's County Road Y, but I'd have to go back to make sure. Ran it north with a couple buddies on the way to Houghton, Michigan. My buddy said that when they made that road, they had a road grader, but no bulldozer. Scary to think how many deer are up there, and the whoops are just deep enough to hide one. But that didn't deter me 2 days later.......at about 85 or 90 mph, on the return trip, I found out that the FJR WILL achieve full departure velocity. I'm sure I was only a few inches off the ground, but getting a big streetbike fully airborn at that speed is actually quite fun. Not safe, nor recommended, nor wise, nor prudent, but I'd like to try it again. (Kind of like my prom date in 1975).
