After almost a year of looking (off, on, off, way off, on, and NOW) I am taking off today to Santa Rosa to buy a 2005 FJR! I just want to say that I have really enjoyed gleaning the information I needed to make this purchase from this site, and now look forward to being a more regular CONTRIBUTOR rather than just a lurker. Look for some happy new owner pics real soon!

Congrats! I think I saw that listing, and it is the fastest color and year. Are you doing a fly and ride? Got a great weekend for it.

You picked wisely. Enjoy your 05 FJR. I know I love my 04 (the fast Silver <_< ). And welcome from Vermont.

Tom

I got one just like it a year ago, and am closing on 400 posts on this site. I've had a great time learning, posting, and getting insulted. Lotta great guys on this site. Welcome aboard, my friend, and ride safe. Make sure ya get some sliders on that rascal before the first tip over. Those panels are seriously $$$.

Is this bike an ABS? You do know the front calipers on NON-ABS 05's are bright blue... don't cha? I didn't know that when I got mine, and the guy that sold it to me didn't either. Also, tell us about it. Miles, condition, farkles, price. Let the forum give ya some feedback before ya go to check out that bike. Wouldn't you rather we razz you because you got a great deal, than razz you because you didn't? Either way, you get razzed, but I know if it were me, I'd prefer the former rather than the latter.

Congrats, you're gonna have way too much fun.

The Ally House from the Pashnit forum, right??

Congratulations!! What a great feeling! Enjoy the moment. I can't wait until I can experience what you are going through right now, and hope to do the same in the next 90 days. Like Gary stated earlier, get some sliders if she doesn't have any already.

I love pictures... :D

Awesome choice, blue is the faster color. Have had mine a little over four years and put on 75,000 miles with no complaints. Keep your eye out for PNW gatherings. I believe the next one will be the bike show in December in Seattle.

OK, in no particular order:

Yes, I am Ally House from the Pashnit forum...also the FZ1 forum, for what it is worth.

Lets see...

67,780 miles on the clock. 3rd owner...first was a fellow who used it almost exclusively for his 3 hour commute. Second was the fellow I bought it from, who works in the motorcycle business in Santa Rosa. He added a custom seat, heated grips, LED running lights, GPS/Radar unit mounts, hard wired for comms, really loud specalized horn that I can't recall the name of, frame sliders, throttle meister, taller windshield. No ABS but outstanding brakes. New tires, recent maintenance and maintenance records. The trunk is not a Yamaha trunk but is really nice. Soft bags to go in the side cases. Some minor scratches on it, but nothing that is really noticible.

Pictures? As soon as I figure out how to post them here! Off to the tutorials. I did change my avatar, from a ride I took yesterday, that I will put in a ride report as soon as I figure out how to post pics...

Photos need to be hosted by an off-site service (Photobucket, et al) then linked (the photo icon nest to the smilie and link icons above the box when posting).

:yahoo: Welcome to the forum. :yahoo:
